Page 45 of Restless Omega

Our last packmate isn’t romantically or sexually involved with any of us. Grey’s brother has always been a part of the pack, unofficial though it still is. We just have different relationships with him. When he finds someone he wants to keep forever, we’ll bring him or her into the pack as well.

"Do you really think you can remain platonic with her?" Grey asks, his expression skeptical, but there’s a slight flash of hope too.

I snort. “Could you? Could Enzo? No, not easily, but of course if that's what she wants. I know none of us would ever push our own desires onto her."

"Speaking of our platonic packmate, what do you think he'll have to say about it?” Enzo asks. “They haven't met yet."

“I know. There are certainly a lot of details that need to be worked out. I just wanted to get your thoughts first. Adding a second omega to the pack is no small thing, even when you're attracted to them yourself. It will certainly be a challenge, and there will be a lot of opinions and backlash we'd be subjected to."

But everything inside of me is convinced she’s a perfect fit for us. And I don’t want to lose her.

Grey shrugs. ”I’m not worried about that. I'd love to help her, and have her join us. Though I think it's more prudent to take things slow, make sure she fits with us on a regular basis. She's more likely to agree if we offer that as well. And don't forget Enzo. He hasn't been ready to forge any true pack bonds. I don't want him to feel pressured or rushed."

"I don't."

I whip around to face my beta, eyes wide. “Enzo...”

He cuts me off. “No. I'm grateful for your patience. I know all of you have been ready for pack bonds for years, and I've been holding you back. Even before everything with Aurora, I'd decided I was ready."

I frown, trying to shove the hope swelling my chest back down. “When did you decide that?"

Enzo chuckles. ”At the rally. As I listened to omegas give amazing speeches and listened to them chant and show up so bravely. When we were separated, and I had no idea if you were safe or hurt. The bonds would've changed that. And if all those omegas, including you, could be so brave, demanding what you want in the face of society's bullshit, then how could I act any differently? I've been letting all the bullshit propaganda betas are force fed from birth get into my head until I believed I could never give you what you need."

I pull Enzo into my lap, wrapping my arms around him. “I’ve told you over and over, you have exactly what I need. I don't need a knot or a bark from you. I get plenty of that from Grey here. I couldn't handle anymore."

"Hey,” Grey protests.

I smirk at him with a wink. “I love you, but no. You can be a lot sometimes and you know it."

Grey sighs, his head hanging. “Aurora knows it too."

Enzo and I freeze, staring at Grey. ”What?"

He winces and rakes his hands through his brown curls. “Right. I guess with everything, I haven't told you guys. I didn't show my best self when she got back last night."

Enzo slumps against me with a sigh. ”Oh no. What did you do?"

"I went a little... alpha on her."

I pinch the bridge of my nose. “Well, whatever you did, she seemed to have gotten over it by the time we arrived."

This fucking dingdong.

"I apologized, and honestly, I think it had more to do with the fact that she needed someone after the trauma of the rally."

"Don't sell yourself so short,” I try to reassure him. “She's been avoiding us for a reason. We tempt her."

"So, how the hell do we convince her to give us a shot?" Grey asks.

"First, we need to talk to your brother, and make sure he's comfortable with it."

The last thing any of us wants is to push Callan away or make him uncomfortable.

Grey starts to look the tiniest bit hopeful. ”And if he agrees?"

"Then we need to be very careful. And you should probably say as little as possible."

Enzo nods, agreeing with me. ”He's right. Let us handle it. You just nod and smile."
