Rose curses. "You're thinking too loud."
I wince. “Sorry."
"What's wrong?" Rose asks.
"I was thinking about how I'll probably never see you again once I leave."
Rose groans and flops onto her back. “Well, I'm awake now. Hell."
"Sorry."
"Why haven't you asked me to come with you?"
I jerk my head to face her in shock. “What? You're not in trouble. You are looking for an alpha and have plenty of time left in the program. I didn't think you'd want to leave everything and everyone behind to try to start fresh in another country."
Rose snorts, staring at the ceiling of my blanket fort. “Who exactly would I be leaving behind? My family is awful, just like yours. It's the only reason I'm so focused on finding an alpha. I sadly don't have a career to fall back on if I age out."
"Do you want to go with me?" I ask, trying to ignore the hope rising in my chest.
"I think I do."
"Really?"
Rose sighs. “Maybe. I keep going back and forth about it. I don't want to lose you and at least we could find a little house somewhere together. But I still think you should take up that pack's offer and become their second omega. They're delicious and so sweet it makes me a little sick. I prefer them a little growly."
I chuckle. “It might be time for you to get to know Trix a little better."
"She's certainly growly. But she only ever had eyes for you." Rose plays it off like she doesn’t care, but her berries and cream scent deepens a little bit, showing her interest.
"It was just sex and companionship. She is excellent at navigating heats too." I think I am liking the idea of the two of them.
They’d be fucking perfect.
Trix and I feed off each other’s snark, but Rose is kind. She’ll soften Trix and Trix will help give her an edge.
Yeah, I’m into this.
"She doesn't have a pack..." Rose trails off.
"You're allowed to bond to just a beta."
It’s still a bit complicated, but it’s possible. Travel and a few other things are more restricted, but she would be free from her family, which is the main thing.
Rose snorts. “Well, if things don't work out with the pack here, maybe the three of us can form our own weird pack in Scotland. Think she'd come with us?"
"I dunno. Maybe. Want me to invite her here? I wouldn't mind having the backup with my mother coming anyway." I pace around the blankets, searching for my phone.
Rose covers her face with her hands. “Why am I considering this?"
I laugh, finally finding my phone. “Because she's hot as hell. It wouldn't be the first time we've shared a beta."
Though the last time was a little different.
Rose laughs. “That was a fun time."
I grin back at her. “Yeah, it was."
We both get lost in sexy memories.
