I gasp. “Oh. Congratulations. When are you having the ceremony?"

Oliver shrugs. “Probably in a couple months. We're not in a huge rush."

Seems strange that they're so blasé about it considering they've waited so long, but this pack is strange. It's why I like them so much. It's why I agreed to this ruse.

"As long as you're sure. I can leave a note behind with some kind of apology so it helps fit that narrative."

Callan squeezes my shoulder. “We'll figure it out. We have time."

"Yeah. I suppose so."

Oliver bounces in place. ”Now, do you want to see your room so you can get your nest sorted? You can spend the whole day here tomorrow. Unless you really do want to sleep here, that's fine too."

"No, I think I prefer the privacy,” I say reluctantly.

Oliver nods. ”Fair enough."

"Come on." Callan opens the door and gestures us through.

I cast one last longing glance at all the pretty books before following Oliver and Callan upstairs. They lead me to the last door on the left. Callan pushes open the door and gestures for me to enter. He and Oliver hover in the doorway while I take in the place.

It's just a guest room, but it's a fucking plush one. The bed is massive and covered in blankets and pillows and even has a canopy, so I'll be able to close myself in. The carpet beneath my feet is thick, my toes sinking into the softness. The lone window has shimmery gray blackout curtains on them as well, perfect for heats.

My eyes narrow in suspicion. "Why do you have a second nest?"

Oliver frowns. “This isn't a nest, love."

"It looks like the beginning of one." I point at the bed.

Oliver scoffs. “We all enjoy luxury and cloud-like furniture. Come on. Let me show you a nest."

Callan doesn’t come with us, instead he stays behind, watching as Oliver drags me out of my new room.

I frown as I trail after Oliver to the door across the hall. Instead of a bedroom, it leads to a hidden staircase. A spiral one. What the hell?

Are they taking me to their secret room where they murder trusting omegas?

At the top of the staircase, the most amazing thing I've ever seen greets my eyes. The floors, the walls, even the ceiling, are all padded and draped with blankets and piled with pillows. It's dark with only low light shining in from the moon through the fucking skylight. The scents of Oliver, Enzo, and Grey are overwhelming in here.

"You sure you don't want to share my nest?" Oliver asks with a smug look at whatever expression I’ve got on my face.

Probably lust and longing.

"Yes?" I can’t help the question mark at the end.

He chuckles. “Anytime you change your mind, let me know. I wouldn't mind your scent soaking into these blankets."

I shiver and clear my throat, stepping back from his intensity. "I'll keep that in mind. I should probably get started on mine though."

"Goodnight, love.”

"Goodnight." I scurry back down the steps and back into my new room, leaning against the closed door behind me as I fight to get my damn needy omega hormones under control.

It's going to be a long few days or weeks here with these damn men.
