Oliver nibbles on his bottom lip, distracting me from my own question. “Well, it was harder in the beginning, trying to balance my time between the two of them so neither felt left out. We set up a schedule and everything, but over time, we just... found a balance somehow. If anyone is feeling neglected, we just talk about it and adjust accordingly. It takes work, but we figure it out."

"Do you have relationships outside the pack?"

Enzo shakes his head. ”No. If we meet someone who we feel drawn to, it's something we may bring to each other, but it hasn't been an issue before now. Only Callan dates outside the pack, but it's been ages since he's shown interest in anyone."

"Until a pretty omega caught his eye. Well, all of our eyes." Oliver winks at me.

I try not to swoon. “I’m not an option though."

Oliver sobers. ”We know. And we aren't going to push it or make you uncomfortable. We are going to be open about it though, so you know you have other options."

I huff, eyes narrowed on both of them. “You guys are trouble."

Grey bursts in, a steaming plate of sausage gravy biscuits in his hands. I almost cover my eyes when I glance over at him. All he's got on are low rise gray joggers. I clear my throat and look down at my coffee, pretending there's something fascinating in my cup.

Oliver nudges me with his elbow, snickering under his breath.

I elbow him back.

The shit.

They all know what they're doing. It might be a good time for me to go... somewhere else.

"Are you working today?" Enzo tosses me a bone.

"I planned to try to get something done, but I'm in a sort of limbo. I haven't had any contact with anyone from OFF or the others who could help me, so there's not really any work for me to do."

I don't mention the fictional story I've been working on in my spare time. No one knows about that.

There's no way I'd be able to focus on that with them all here surrounding me.

Oliver perks up. “So you're free today? No mother, no work? You just need to keep your phone close in case someone responds?"

"I suppose." I draw out the words, eying them with suspicion. "Why?"

The three of them exchange glances before Enzo answers, “We want to take you out on an adventure."

"What? Why?"

Enzo laughs. “Well, mostly because it'll be fun, but also we figured it would help spread the word that we're courting you if people see us together around town."

I blink. “Oh. Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. What exactly did you have in mind?"

Grey finally slows down eating long enough to join the conversation, though I still avoid looking at him. “We thought about lunch at the Mexican place, browsing the shops downtown, then maybe dancing this evening once Callan is off work and can meet us?"

I purse my lips as I consider the offer. “That sounds fun, actually."

I've spent most of my time here holed up in the library like some kind of gremlin instead of taking any time to explore or enjoy this new location.

"Have you been to the bookstore here?" Oliver asks.

I freeze. “I’m sorry, what?"

There hadn't been anything written in the brochure of this town about a bookstore.

Enzo flashes a smile. “It's kind of a hidden gem. And it's called a coffee shop, not a bookstore, but there are a ton of books in there."

Is that the place they gave out coupons to? Rose and I still hadn’t had our day of wine and coffee like we’d planned. Now, we can bring Trix with us though. And maybe the pack too.
