I BLINK AT ENZO’S GROWLY threat and puffed up energy. "What?"

”You're upset."

I shoot him a quizzical glance. “Well, there's certainly someone I wouldn't mind seeing dead for the bullshit they're causing, but I have no idea who it is. So thanks for the offer, but it's rather impossible at the moment."

"Want to tell us what's going on?" Callan asks.

I sigh. “Yeah. It could affect you too."

The guys circle me, but don’t touch, giving me the space I want, even if I might need to be in the center of a pile again. Their concerned expressions turn to furious ones as I tell them everything I know so far, and how I've spent my day.

"I know someone who can check all our tech, and make sure we aren't compromised,” Enzo says. “If you want, I can take your computer and phone to him too. He may even be able to trace the source."

I nod, rubbing at the center of my forehead. “Yes, please. Thank you. And I'm so sorry I brought all this shit to you guys."

Oliver growls and leans into me. “You have nothing to be sorry for. You didn't do this. Some asshole did. Hell, our goddamn society did."

Callan nods. “Whatever we can do to help, let us know."

"The tech stuff will help, but I think everything else is getting handled. I should have papers and a way out of the country soon. Trix is handling that in case my hacker strikes again."

"Can I hug you?" Enzo asks.

I smile. “Of course. You did a hell of a lot more to me the last few days, you guys don't need to be quite so skittish."

Enzo beams and wraps me in his arms with a grunt, lifting me into the air. I smile and sink into him, scenting him with my face in his neck, feeling some of my stress unravel from my spine.

A knock on the door interrupts, but Enzo doesn't release me as Grey heads over to see who’s here.

"Uh, Aurora? It's for you."

I pull out of Enzo’s arms with a furrowed brow, my eyes widening at the sight of my father standing alone just inside the door. I rush across the room to him, throwing myself in his arms, biting back tears at his familiar and comforting scent. I ignore the tendrils of my mother's scent clinging to him, trying to overpower his. She likes to scent mark as much as possible to prove her ownership.

I finally pull away, blinking away my emotions. “It's good to see you, Dad."

His lips tremble as he smiles. “You too. I'm sorry I couldn't warn you she was coming."

"That's okay. Birdie did."

Relief covers his face. “Good. I'd hoped she would after I told her when I ran into her at the market."

"Where's Mother?" I ask as I lead Father into the living room, gesturing for him to sit on the couch.

Thankfully, the guys cleaned up the mess we left, so there’s plenty of space for us to sit.

"She's meeting with the OCP, hoping to talk them into forcing you into the alpha she brought with us."

Grey curses and pulls his phone from his pocket. “Shit. I'm going to message my mother, make sure she can cut that line of bullshit off right now."

I shoot him a grateful look. “Thanks."

Father slumps in his seat with a sigh. “I don't know if that will stop your mother. If you're serious about this pack, you should bond as soon as possible, so you're safe."

"Dad..." I trail off, unsure what to say.

He sniffs and looks away, shame darkening his cheeks. “I’m sorry I couldn't protect you. That I never could stop her. But I've rarely seen her this furious. I'm afraid what she'll do if she doesn't get her way while you're still free."
