“Don’t push it, pet.”

Conall laughed. “Shall we go for a drive, at least?” He went to grab the keys out of Sloan’s fingers, but Sloan moved them away.

“Rules.”

Conall groaned. “No.”

“Yes.” He jangled the keys. “This car is completely yours, but you will do as you’re told. You will not take it out without someone at your side. I don’t care if you have to jam Ronan in the front seat with you, you will have someone with you at all times. Am I clear?”

“Sloan.” Conall groaned and ran a hand over his face. “I’m not a child.”

“No, but you are mine. You know the rules.” His face hardened, making his scar more prominent across his eye. “They will attempt to take you, Conall. My enemies are getting braver every day, including Thiago Reyes.”

“Him?” Conall laughed. “He was a pussy cat.”

Sloan grunted. “If pussy cats had guns. I am serious, pet.” He cupped Conall’s cheek. “I won’t let anything happen to you. Bodyguard. No exceptions.”

Conall sighed but smiled. “Yes, boss.”

“Good.” He kissed Conall’s forehead. “Be safe at all times.”

“Okay.” His smile turned into a wide grin. “Now, can I take this baby to show Forrest? It’s all ready to go, right?”

“As if you’d question me about that. Why do you think it took me two days?” Sloan snorted. “I’m coming with you.”

“Yes!” Conall stole the keys out of Sloan’s hand and bounced over to the driver’s door. “You better put your seat belt on, boss. I’m gonna give you a ride you won’t forget.”

Sloan’s laughter made Conall’s heart skip a beat. “If you say so, pet. Now let’s go show your ex what I can give you that he can’t.”

Conall rolled his eyes. “Possessive child.”

He got smacked on the thigh when he slid into the low car as punishment for his comment.
