“You’re safe in this realm. Now, go around those trees.” He pointed to two large pines that hid her gift from view. “There’s a natural hot spring for you to relax in. I figured you would probably want to freshen up.”

“I—but—” Her mouth parted in shock, but then she tilted her head to the side. “You’re not coming with me?”

If he did, it would mean he would have to watch her strip naked, and that would be asking way too much of his already-crumbling self control. “I’ll be there in a minute.”

“Is this why you were wet when you showed up? You found this place for me? You got clean for me?”

“I wanted you to say yes.”

Flora rolled her eyes and turned away from him. She hesitated before taking the ten steps to the other side of the trees.

Her gasp alone made it worth it.

“Draven Dempsy, you better not be doing this just to get me naked.”

He snorted. The moment he’d found the moonlit hot spring that was his only thought. It just so happened that he also liked making her smile, which meant bringing her here would kill two birds with one stone.

“I will always try to get you naked, mate, but this is for you. Enjoy it while you can. Because when I come to join you, I won’t be stopping my wolf from claiming what’s his.”

He thought her gasp had made his dick jump, but the sharp inhale followed by a whimpered exhale was enough to make him regret being a damn gentleman.

One painful item at a time, her clothing dropped to the soft dirt with a thud. Draven chewed his lip when the soft ripple of her toes displacing the water of the hot spring with tiny splashes met his ears, and his will shattered when she let out a satisfying groan.

He couldn’t wait.

He’d tried.

He really had.

But the call of her was too strong. The need to consume her. To see the way her body reflected the moonlight and slipped beneath the shimmering silver water.

Need, lust and something he was pretty sure he might classify as love—though he wasn’t about to examine that last one—drove him to tear past the trees and onto the beach of the hot spring.

His breath caught in his throat, and Draven stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Flora. He stood, his mouth gaping, and took a mental snapshot—he wanted to remember this moment for the rest of his life.

He didn’t know where to look first.

Ethereal was the only word to describe her.

Steam rose all around where she stood with her back to him, her head tipped back so her curls tumbled down her back to the swell of her perfect heart-shaped ass. Her eyes were closed and her hands were at her side, turned upward, bathing in the glow of the moon.

Draven swallowed hard, steadying himself before dropping the furs he’d carried onto the beach and tearing away the cloth that barely covered his erection.

The water was the perfect temperature to soak, but he had no intention of enjoying it. Not when his mate’s impeccable body called to him. He waded into the spring until he stood behind her. Flora didn’t react when he cradled his dick in the curve of her ass and slid his hands over the swell of her hips and cupped her breasts.

“I thought this was for me,” she chastised, but her voice was filled with amusement.

Draven nipped his favorite spot, the curve between her neck and shoulder. “I lied.”

“It’s a good thing. Because I was praying to the Goddess you’d join me.”

He raised an eyebrow and gently lifted her in the water, turning her around. “Were you, now?”

Flora sucked in her bottom lip between her teeth and nodded. “It was cruel of her to give me a mate and then make him a gentleman when I needed him to ravage me most.”

His wolf howled in his chest, and Draven almost threw back his head and echoed his cry out loud. His fangs lengthened, and he itched to replace her teeth with his and suck her lip between them.

Flora ran her fingers up his forearms, tracing his tattoos until she reached his neck. She laced her fingers and tugged on the hair at the nape of his neck, sending a shot of lightning down his spine that landed in his balls.
