Once my eyes landed on the ring box, I immediately blurted, “Yes! Hell yes.”

“Let me ask you first, baby,” Lance responded with a chuckle as he went the traditional route of moving down onto one knee. Then he popped open the box to unveil the most beautiful diamond ring I’d ever seen, grinning nervously when he asked, “Briyana Denise Hayes, aka Yani, aka Sandy Cheeks, aka Bri Bri Thee Stallion... will you marry me?”

I didn’t say anything, because I couldn’t say anything, too choked up with emotion to give a verbal answer. But thankfully, my vigorous nod was enough to communicate how I really felt, Lance’s smile widening as he slipped the ring on my finger then stood up to pull me into a hug that had me sobbing happy tears against his chest as I thought about everything I’d been blessed with over the past nine months.

I was living in the place of my dreams.

I had the job of my dreams.

And of course, even before this moment, I had the man of my dreams.

And now that we were engaged, I knew it was only a matter of time before we made some of our other dreams come true, the fact that we were fresh off a pregnancy scare already feeling like a sign for what was to come as I realized Lance haddefinitelycaught me now.

The End
