CHAPTERELEVEN

State

I’d left Court sleeping in my bed. I woke not that long ago with my gut rumbling. I needed food and to take some back to my woman as well. A smile tugged at my lips. The images of my little mouse would live in the forefront of my mind.

I wanted my hands on her again.

I wanted my mouth between her legs, drinking down her juices.

My cock jerked.

Christ, I’d never get enough. I made my way into the kitchen, and the chatter stopped. Country, Death, and Quake stood at the counter, eating pizza and grinning over at me.

“Not a word,” I ordered.

Country’s hands rose. “Wouldn’t think of it. Not when we know she’s a keeper.”

Death nodded. “If you don’t—”

“She’s mine.”

The fuckers chuckled.

Quake made his way over and patted my shoulder. “Happy for you, brother.”

I tipped my chin up. “Thanks.” He nodded before leaving, munching on his slice of pepperoni. When my gut growled again, I grabbed a couple of plates and put some slices on them. “Dusty been cookin’ again?”

Country thinned his lips. “Yeah.”

Death rolled his eyes. “No matter how many times you tell her she doesn’t have to, you know she will.”

I swallowed my bite. “She thinks it’s her way to make up for stayin’ here.”

If Country’s glares could kill me, I’d be dead. “She doesn’t have to.”

Death gripped his shoulder. “We know.” He rolled his eyes. “How about we give State the good news?”

Country brightened, pushing any thought of Dusty away. “You got time to chat?”

“Let me leave some pizza for Court, and I’ll meet you in the office.”

“You got it,” Country replied.

On my way out, I grabbed two sodas out of the refrigerator and pushed them into my back pockets. The common room was quiet. A few club girls lingered around the brothers who were either off work or on break, and there was one prospect manning the bar. At least I wouldn’t get caught up in conversation when I wanted to know what the good news was that Country and Death had.

In my room, I shut the door as Court rolled over in the bed. I held up the plate. “Pizza.”

Her smile warmed my chest and gripped my gut.

Jesus, she looked good in my bed, naked with the sheet pulled up under her arms.

I placed the plate on the bedside table with the drinks and sat in the crook of her hip. Brushing stray strands of hair from her face, I leaned in and kissed her temple, cheeks, and nose. She tipped her head up to give me her lips, and I made the most of it.

Pulling back, I grinned down at her. “Like you here. Like knowin’ you’re in here. Wanna see you in my bed at my house, though.”

“Okay,” she whispered.

“Okay,” I mimicked just as softly. “You all right if I duck out and talk to the brothers for a bit?”
