I grabbed Liam by the lapels of his expensive suit. “Come here,” I growled.

I looked up at Liam’s familiar face, into his green eyes that had mesmerized me from the day I’d met him. My gaze fell to those luscious lips I’d kissed thousands of times before. I could do this, right? It was for a good cause. A good cause being my bank account and Liam’s blooming company.

“Liam!” I heard the screech of terror behind me as Miss Pyscho called out tomyman. Not in this lifetime sister.

And just like that, my mouth was on Liam’s lips as his arms came around my waist. Gone was the anger and resentment of the last few months. Gone was the fear of getting attached, of being hurt. Of falling for him again. And gone was any memory of the psycho woman who’d pushed me to do the unthinkable.

All I felt at that moment was Liam’s lips on mine, the deliciousness of the moment, of the taste of him, of how damn much I missed kissing him. And then I was lost to the kiss, to the fathoms of pent-up desire, while I basked in this glorious rush of pleasure, giddiness, and relief.

In the back of my mind was a tiny voice warning me that this was the point of no return. Because a kiss like that would most certainly require an encore of a much higher realm of pleasure and release. And my body, the naughty thing she was, would undoubtably demand more.

Liam

The mild guilt I felt at the trickery I’d used was nothing compared to the delight I felt having Silver in my arms again, her kiss on my lips and that glorious body wrapped around mine.

It was not a lie, I reasoned. Maybe just a slight exaggeration. This was our last wedding to attend for the Magnum account. I wouldn’t have another shot at Silver in a long time. If ever. She was far too skittish with me, far too mistrusting. I didn’t have the luxury of time to break down those barriers. Once we got the Magnum account, who knew if she’d stick around? I wasn’t going to chance losing her again. A little reminder of how great it was between us, a little kiss to jog her memory, never did any harm. It was all for a greater cause: mutual happiness.

But what did they say? That the best laid plans often go astray?

I hadn’t planned on what her kiss would do to me. The taste of her was both new and familiar, her delicious curves fit perfectly against mine. I found myself moving her up against the wall, wanting, needing to have her right then and there. If I didn’t, I’d end up with blue balls for the next century.

I threaded my hand through her hair while I let my other hand slide up her thigh and just underneath her short dress. A soft, breathless squeal escaped between those delectable, full lips as my hand glided up further, cupping her behind as if it was a prized possession.

“Silver,” I whispered against her mouth. “I want you. Let’s...”

At once she pulled back, moving her hands between us as she did. “No, Liam,” she said breathlessly. But there was no conviction behind her words, and we both knew it.

“We’re in public. At a wedding, may I remind you? For an account we both want very much,” she whispered.

“Damn, you sound so sexy,” I said, drawing her close to me again. She let me get close enough to give her one more slow, sweet kiss.

“Stop... kissing me,” she said in a low voice as her lips came down on my once again.

“Stop kissing me back then,” I countered, my arms still loosely around her waist. She broke from my embrace leaving my arms and lips bereft as the moon on a starless night.

“Fair enough. We both need to stop.” She looked over my shoulder. “Your femme fatale is gone. No need for this charade anymore.” She stepped away from me and smoothed the front of her dress, then her hair.

“I told you no funny business,” she said firmly.

“I’m not laughing. And neither are you. I’d say our moods right now were not exactly of a humorous nature.”

“Whatever this is between us, it just can’t happen, okay? We are business partners, nothing more.”

“Silver, you know that is absolute BS. You want me as much as I want you. And this thing between us,” I said gesturing from myself to her, “Is real. And it’s good. Quit fighting it.”

“You keep telling yourself that,” she said and turned to go.

I grabbed her hand and spun her around. I stood inches from her, so close I could smell the lingering scent of her breath, feel the heat of her desire emanating like a fire in the desert. “You keep lying to yourself, Silver. About us, about you, about me. We’re here to get the Magnum account-together.” I pulled her into my arms, and she didn’t resist. “But I can tell you something. I don’t want that damn account standing between us when I take you to bed.”

The fire in her eyes was unmistakable. “Take me? You aren’t taking me anywhere.”

“Fine. When we go to bed. And when we make hot, passionate love all night long, I don’t want that damn hotel company in there with us.”

She pulled out of my embrace. “I am not going to bed with you,” she said with all the indignation she could muster. Which wasn’t much, considering the desire in her was winning.

“That’s a lie. You can lie to me and everyone else, but you cannot lie to yourself. You want me as much as I want you. I could taste it in your kiss, feel it in your body’s reaction to me, your nipples standing at attention. You can deny me, if you must. But you will only be denying yourself.”
