He chuckles and puts his arm around my shoulders. “Now, tell me about this Charlie character. I’m assuming since we haven’t seen him, that we don’t have to worry about him stealing your heart?”
I sigh and lean my head against his shoulder. “That ship has sailed.”
“Good. Now you can focus on what’s important.”
“Like not dying?”
“Exactly.” He gives me a squeeze, then stands.
“Hey Dylan?”
He stops from jumping in and turns to me. “Yea?”
“I love you.”
He grins. “I love you too, Princess.” He cannonballs into the water and drenches me while I laugh.
