He takes a few deep breaths and faces me. “It was one reality. Yes.”

“But none of this is real. This is all a dream.”

He shrugs. “I can’t tell you what to believe. But what you saw was the most likely possibility of many.”

I wipe away the tears. “It was beautiful.”

He smiles. “You’re going to be a hot mom, Liv.”

“You could see it too?”

He nods. “That was a pretty far jump. Luke knew you were from the past, and that I sent you. Which is strange.” He eyes me, his expression contemplative.

“Why is that strange?”

He stands and pulls me to my feet, ignoring my question and guiding me to my room. “It’s time to wake up. But I’ll be around. Don’t be a stranger.” He winks and disappears.

I blink and I’m staring at the ceiling from my bed. Sunlight slashes across the floor from the window, lighting up my door. I forgot to close the curtains last night. We all agreed to skip the run this morning since we were up so late. Laughter floats up the stairs, and I smile and pull back the covers. I dress and find Vera making breakfast with my parents. Mark and Dylan are having some type of meeting in the living room. They glance up at me and smile, but continue with their conversation, pointing to something on a laptop sitting on the coffee table.

I go out to the front porch and my entire body heats when Luke’s eyes meet mine. The sexy older version of him is still fresh in my mind.

“Good morning. Did you sleep well?” he asks.

I grin. “Mhm.”

It doesn’t matter if the vision I saw was real or not. It was perfect. I have a flash of his lips on my neck from the dream last night and my heartbeat quickens. He stands and approaches. Wetness pools between my legs as he hugs me, and I press my body to his.

“You have to stop looking at me like that before I carry you upstairs and make things uncomfortable for our friends,” he whispers in my ear.

It’s then I realize Jackson is on the porch too, staring at us with a satisfied grin.

“Don’t hold back on my account. I’m sure I can scrounge up some popcorn,” he says. Luke glares at him, but he only laughs. “So, when’s the wedding? We should do a big destination thing. Somewhere tropical. What do you think, Liv?”

I take a minute to recover from his words that hit very close to the vision in my head. “Let’s get to our date before we talk about wedding plans. Okay?”

He puts his hands over his cheeks and gasps. “You said yes to the date?”

Luke grins at me while I nod. Jackson runs into the house, heralding the news of our impending date like LA won the Superbowl. “She caved! Pay up bitches!”

I lower my brows at Luke and he rubs the back of his neck. “They uh, had a bet going.”

I can’t help but laugh. “I’m kind of glad you got to keep him in the divorce,” I say, surprising myself with the joke at our expense.

Luke chuckles. “Yea, next time he’s all yours.”

We grin at each other. “How about we avoid a next time instead?”

He squeezes my hand. “Deal.”
