I felt the moan vibrate from her throat as I ran my lips across her neck, and it’s now imprinted in my mind, just like that erotic dance.

The intention was to ensure Cassie’s safety, but seeing my cousin dance so sexily made me lose grip on my emotions, and I had to hold her.

It surprised me that she let it continue. Either she knew it was me and is experiencing the same attraction, or she allows random guys to dance with her back in Philadelphia, which pisses me off.

Feeling her move against me so sexually was so mind-blowing. I almost touched her right there. I can’t believe she didn’t push me away. Perhaps she truly didn’t know. No, she had to have known.

Maybe she wants to pretend it didn’t happen and blame the alcohol, just as I plan to do, so it won’t be uncomfortable between us, and she won’t leave early.

My heart picks up speed at the sound of someone coming downstairs. Genevieve just made breakfast and went to clean Mom’s office, so I’m sure it’s Cassie.

I slant on the stool as Cassie enters the kitchen.

She barely meets my eyes as she says softly, “Hey. Morning.”

“Morning.”

I watch her approach the fridge, grabbing orange juice to fill a glass.

Okay. Let’s try to fix what I’ve done. “Cass, um…”

She glances back. “Yeah?”

I free the tightness in my throat to continue. “Last night, I had a few drinks, and I’m worried I may have acted strange. Did anything happen?”

Cassie piles two still warm pancakes onto a plate and comes around the island, sitting on a stool beside me. “You don’t remember?”

I play it off. “Bits and pieces. I barely recall what happened after the first two drinks.”

“Huh.” She looks down at her breakfast. “Well, don’t worry. You didn’t offend me or anything.” She snorts. “You hugged me at last.”

I loved it. “Yeah? Hmm. I hardly hug people, so good for you.”

She giggles.

As it settles, silence engulfs us while she eats breakfast, and I sit there watching her. My cock twitches when she licks maple syrup from the corner of her mouth.

Geez.

The vibration in my pocket is a great distraction to snap me out of it. Taking out my phone, I cringe from the text from Barry.

How about dinner later?

I’ll cook.

Part of me wants to accept the invite. But the painful reminder of his neglect makes me stick the phone in my pocket without a reply.

“Everything all right?” Cassie asks.

Looking over, I realize she’s watching me. “Uh, yeah.”

She twists her mouth and dips her head back to the plate. “You just don’t want to talk about it.”

“Actually…” I want to discuss it with her more than anyone else. “Promise you won’t say anything to my mom.”

Her head flies up, and she purses her lips. “Seriously? You know I wouldn’t.”
