"That's very true."

He puts one container in front of me, opening it before reaching into a plastic bag and getting a bottle of orange juice and an apple out.

"This is the first time I had it with shrimp," I say. "It's really good."

He nods. "It's what I saw most of the people ordering, so I figured it was probably the best bet."

"So what's on the agenda for the day?"

"Beach, beach, and beach. Then they have a lake not too far from here that you can rent a boat on, so if you wanna do that, we can before dinner."

"That sounds amazing. You do know how to swim, right?"

"You planning on throwing me over?"

I shrug. "Just in case my merpeople come for me and you get thrown around in the struggle."

He laughs. "Hurry and eat so I can show you why I picked this room specifically."

Intrigued, I eat a little quicker, and then hurry to brush my teeth, shower, and put on a bikini. When Elijah comes out of the bathroom, he stops short, eyes roaming up and down my body before he shakes his head.

"You are making it very hard to want to actually leave this room, Jolie."

"You aren't making it any easier yourself."

In his swimming shorts that come just past his knees and bare chest, the beach has lost a little of its appeal in comparison. Remembering how my nails dug into his skin not too long ago only reminds me of what it felt like to have him between my thighs and an ache begins to form there.

Elijah groans. "That is not helping."

"What?" I ask innocently.

"You know what. Come on, let's get in the ice cold water so I can cool down."

I laugh then become confused as he leads me to the sliding door instead of the front one.

"Uh, I believe the beach is that way," I say.

"Not if we want to go to this part of the beach." He tells me, closing the door behind us. "I wanted to bring you out this way in the daytime when you could really see it."

We walk a few steps and I gasp, my bare feet hitting the sand just as I realize what's in front of me. I slap Elijah's arm in excitement. "There's more beach right here? How could you keep that from me?"

"Didn't want you running off in the middle of the night."

I slap his arm again. "As if I'd ever leave you after this."

His lips come to my hair and a playful moment becomes a sweet one, especially when he murmurs, "I hope not."

I know not.

It's a short walk to the bridge that carries us over a sand dune and then we're on the beach, much warmer than it was yesterday, and the waves calmer now in the bright of day. There's hardly anyone out here, and I can pretend me and Elijah have the beach all to ourselves. I run from his arms and towards the water. There's still a slight chill to it, but I just don't care as I wade deeper and deeper until the water is lapping at my navel.

This feels like home. The water pulling at my feet, sand between my toes, and the man I love walking towards me, looking at me like I'm more beautiful than anything else at this beach.

When he reaches me, he pulls me to him, water splashing between us when we meet.

"Are you happy?" he asks low.

"Deliriously so." I smile. "Are you?"
