"I don't think you have to worry about that." Josh started working on the other side of the floor. "I know a cool place nearby with a great guy who has a big... you know. The place even comes with a dog."

I stopped scrubbing to stare at him. "Are you asking me to move in?"

He shrugged. "Or we could just carve a door between our walls."

Laughing, I said, "That might work."

Josh had been joking, but it definitely gave me something to think about as we cleaned together, both of us still naked, crouching and kneeling on the floor.

"We should shower after this," Josh said.

Oh, God, yes. Just the thought of being in the shower with this amazing guy made me hot as hell. I wiped the sweat from my brow, sneaking a peek at him, the muscles in his arms flexing in a delicious way that made me drool.

"Maybe after we shower," Josh continued, "we could actually try doing it on the bed."

"Um." I thought about the mess on my bed from when I'd dumped out my drawer. "Maybe we could go to your place."

"My place? I don't know about that. I have this really annoying neighbor that I share a wall with, and she keeps complaining about my headboard."

"You ass." I grinned at him.

"You love this ass."

"Yeah, I do," I said with a sigh.

My heart near to bursting, I realized I was the luckiest girl in the world. Here was this guy—this man—who had stood by me from the beginning when I'd been riddled by nightmares, the darkness mirroring the guilt in my soul.

He hadn't known my troubles then, but within hours of hearing about my fear, he'd brought Magic over, trying to help me fight my demons. And then, when I'd eventually confided in him, he'd actually believed me and stuck by me through all my drama, never losing faith in me.

And now, he was on all fours, cleaning up this mess with me like a true partner, and in the deep recesses of my heart, I already knew something about Josh. He would be there for me. He wasn't going to run. He wasn't going to cheat. He wasn't going to play any games.

Words he'd said after my break-up with Devon came rushing back into my mind.

"I've got you, Jess. I've got you," he'd said. And I knew he always would.
