Cocowhinesandwants to go out for a little walk. I’d rather not bother anyone in order to go outside. I’ll figure it out.

I reassure her and opt to put my hair in the bun that it was in, but there’s no point. It’s big and down my back in ringlets of curls. I’d rather just leave it alone since I have to dye it to dark red to fit the role of Santine.

A ping comes from my phone and I get momentarily distracted by the text from the director letting us know that our first meeting is tomorrow. A sort of meet and greet for the production.

I sent a quick text back saying I’ll be there bright and early. Petting Coco, we make our way and I follow the steps, remembering them from when Rowe brought us upstairs. Staying silent as ever, a trait I’m used to doing around my family, I walk down the stairs but pause when I hear voices.

I’m naturally not nosy, but if I walk past them now, they’ll know I’m here, and I feel like I’ve already done enough staying here.

“You’ve looked spooked since he returned. It’s still very surreal to me but I need to ask… do you need a break from me?” Whit asks Moonlight. I can’t see his face, but she looks at him with surprise in her eyes.

“Why?” Moonlight asks him.

“Well, my brother and your once dead boyfriend just returned. I’ll understand if you need a moment to process.”

My eyes widen. Dead boyfriend? Walt and Moonlight used to date? No wonder why it was so awkward before. Moonlight is now with Walt’s brother. I can see how everyone needs a moment. They thought Walt was dead.

Moonlight sighs hard and rubs her face. “Do you need a break from me, Whit? I know that look. You hate secrets and although he’s only been back a few hours. It’s eating at you because you haven’t told him. Is that what this is about?”

I can feel as my face drops to a sad expression. I don’t want them to fight. They love each other and I know they do. I don’t have to see Whit’s face to know that. I saw it earlier.

“I’ll tell him if he wants to know who you are. You used to love him enough to publicly accuse me of killing him. I still have the article.” Whit says, but there’s no bite to his words, he’s just saying it. Whoa, she thought he killed his brother? I wonder how that went.

“Yes, Whit. I remember coming here earlier this year because you bankrupted me, moved me into your closet, made me your personal servant, and gave me a dog collar in retaliation for that error in judgment.” Moonlight responds.

A dog collar?

“The rest is irrelevant. Besides, you like when I put the collar on you and fuck you.” Hearing those words sends a tingle down my spine. Wow! That’s sexy as hell. Shaking my head, getting my mind away from that, I try to move, but I stop when Whit moves closer to Moonlight, practically in her face.

“My point is, you cared enough about my brother to start a war where you were severely outgunned. Do you need a moment to process his return?”

“No. Now listen to me, jackass.” Moonlight points at Whit in a what looks to me like the beginning of a sexual debate. “I love you and only you. Walt doesn’t even remember me…”

“There is a lot he’s working on recollecting, Beam,” he cuts in.

Moonlight nods. “I know, but the time since he’s awakened, he’s remembered your name, was sure he had a son. Hell, Rowe told me he somewhat recognized Sparrow when he saw her get into her car. I traveled the world with him and was considered to be his girlfriend for a year and he tells me it’s nice to meet me! His brain has a lot to do. It’s okay that remembering me isn’t the priority, Whit. He didn’t love me.”

My heart sinks with hers at those words. I don’t think she’s in love with him, either. I wonder if she loved him too? Maybe she didn’t realize it and then, when she fell for Whit, she saw it. I can see why. From looking at him, he looks very much like a no-nonsense guy with the mouth of a man who can fuck you really well.

“What are you doing?”

I let out a squeal, turning to face whoever the hell scared me. Walt is standing behind me with his semi-dry hair out against his gray t-shirt and a pair of sweats, along with sneakers. Where is he going?

“You scared me!” I whisper back, shoving him lightly even though he doesn’t budge.

“You’re the one snooping and not minding your business.” Walt leans in closer to my face, whispering as well.

“What was that?” I hear Whit say. Hearing shuffling, I look around, acting quick so that they don’t feel like I was intentionally not minding my business.

Standing on the tips of my toes, I wrap my fist in Walt’s shirt. “I’m sorry.” I whisper. The look on his face says he doesn’t know what I’m talking about. I pull him closer, kissing him.

At first, Walt stands there not moving, but I tease his bottom lip, making him kiss me so this doesn’t look awkward since Moonlight and Whit are probably so close now.

Suddenly, Walt releases a grunt, wrapping his arm around my waist, pulling me flush to his body. My body heats as he sinks his fingers in my curls, tugging hard and forming a fist. My lashes flutter as he deepens the kiss, pulling me up to his body a bit as I feel his hardened dick against my body.

Right now, nothing matters anymore. The reason I did this is gone and I moan as he tightens his fist, as if knowing exactly what I like. I feel as his other hand travels from my waist to my ass. He cups an ass cheek hard. My free hand finds his bicep and my fingers dig deep, searching for something.
