“Ready to do this?” Bea gives me a little smile as she hands me my bouquet.

“Let’s get married.” I grin at my two favorite people.

ALESSANDRO

I wake up and head for the kitchen. I need a coffee. After last night, I’m surprised I haven’t got a terrible hangover.

Looks like I’m the first awake. We were up until 3:00 am playing poker. Max, the bastard, won practically every hand.

Leo and Sam crashed here at my apartment last night. Sam isn’t from our world, exactly. He’s Italian, just not part of our Mafia. He does work closely with us, though. Having the deputy chief of police for the NYPD as one of your closest friends comes in handy. Leo and I have been friends with him since school. He’s probably the only person I trust from outside of our world.

Max went back to his apartment, taking Nic and Ant with him. To say I was shocked when they turned up at my door was an understatement. Nic hasn’t apologized for his behavior, but then, I did get his little sister knocked up. The evening was great, no awkwardness at all, it was like it always is. Leo even cracked a few jokes about how Cam and I ended up getting engaged to be married. Nic grumbled, but it was all in good humor. The only person missing was Enzo, who’s still holed up in the hospital. From what Leo has said, he should be discharged within the next few days.

I switch on the coffee machine and take a seat at the island.

Twenty minutes later, Sam enters the kitchen. “Morning,” he yawns as he slumps onto the stool next to me.

“Coffee should still be hot.” I gesture for him and Leo, who’s just entered the kitchen, to grab a cup.

“So today you take a wife. Well, you kind of already took her, but you know what I mean.” He swirls his wrist in jest. “It’s odd how your marriages work in your world. I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready to stop fucking who I want.”

“Have you seen my wife? Trust me, when you find a woman like that, no other woman will satisfy you,” Leo grunts as he grabs a bottle of water.

“Well, it’s not what I planned, but I can’t say I disagree. Cam is fucking fire.” I shake my head at the thought of my wife-to-be.

I’ve always liked to fuck, but I’ve never needed loads of different women. I’d had Jade for nigh on two years. It was never a monogamous relationship for me. She knew if I was out of state I would take other women, but that didn’t happen often.

After my night with Cam, it felt wrong with Jade. I knew it was a relationship that had run its course. I just didn’t expect the bitch to try and betray me.

Anyway, I can forget about that and concentrate on my sassy little fireball that today becomes mine. I haven’t pushed her this week as I didn’t want her to feel like she had to fuck me. Surprisingly, it was me holding her off. The little whimpers and moans slipping from her perfect lips when she rubs herself on my leg at night before bed. Dam, just the thought of those noises has me rock hard. Tonight, though, I plan on getting reacquainted with her luscious curves.

An apple hits the side of my head. “Seriously, earth to fucking Alessandro. Where’d you go? Thinking about tonight?” Leo the bastard smirks at me.

I rub my head where the apple hit.

“Fucker,” I grunt. “Right, enough pissing about. We need to get ready and head over to yours.” I launch the apple back at Leo, but he dodges it.

I smirk at him and head to my room to get ready.

Obviously, I knew one day I would marry. I’ve known since I was eight what is expected of me. My father has told me enough times over the years. I guess I just thought I’d be in my thirties by that point. But then I’m aware that would have made my bride-to-be a lot younger. I’ve never been interested in any of the proposals my father has suggested. So, I guess you could say I’m lucky how this has panned out. Cam was unexpected. Deep down, I’d always wondered why she was never offered as a match. Now I know it’s because fucking Chicago had already put their hand in. From what Leo was saying, Dante is in talks to offer them Mia, Cam’s younger sister, as an option. It would be a good match; it would give Primo time to mature before taking a wife. The thought that he could have had Cam sets my teeth on edge.

We arrive at Leo’s mansion thirty minutes before our guests are due to arrive. Only the Bianchis, Gallos, De Lucas, Giordanos, and Marinos are attending. Maximus is here, but we did not extend the invite to the Conti family. Cam’s stomach shows the slightest bump at eleven weeks, but no one would expect her being pregnant so wouldn’t notice. But Dante and my father felt the smaller the wedding the better anyway.

So, I’m currently standing in the entrance hall of Leo’s new home. The hall has been set up with enough chairs for the twenty-five or so guests. The sweeping staircase has been dressed in yellow and white flowers.

Max and Leo stand by my side. I would have always had Leo, but recently, Max and I have become close. We work really well together, and we both share the same thirst for torture. Something we’ve definitely bonded over in the last year. I wanted them both by my side as I take Carmella as my wife. Nic is sitting in the front row, I wouldn’t say he’s any happier about the situation, but he seems to have accepted it.

A low tune starts to play as five figures enter the upstairs hallway, all dressed in knee-length pastel yellow dresses. Bea descends the stairs first, followed by Nell and Mia, with both my younger sisters, Gemma and Lia, following closely behind. They’re all beaming, Bea particularly in the direction of Leo. He’s grinning back like the Cheshire fucking cat. He’s so pussy-whipped by his little wife, although, who am I to judge.

Last time Cam and I attended a wedding, I had one of the best nights of my life. Tonight, I intend to give her the best night of hers.

The music changes as Dante descends the stairs with Cam on his arm.

She takes my breath away.
