CHAPTER SIXTEEN

I send up a silent prayer that the baby doesn’t belong to me.
Fuck!
I scroll through my phone to check the dates and medical records Jake has sent me. From the pregnancy dates, I know for a fact we were definitely fucking back then. We weren’t using protection because she always got the shot and we both had regular checkups. As far as I know, she wasn’t fucking anyone else.
I message Jake and get him to get in contact with the clinic she gets her shot at.
Andrea wriggles in my arms. When I look down, he’s wide awake staring up at me with big brown orbs.
Could I be that fucking stupid to get two women accidentally pregnant at the same time? Well, one woman. If Jade is carrying my child, then she’s fucking set me up.
Jake messages back and confirms she missed the last shot that had been booked whilst we were together.
Fuck, she gets her shot at a clinic that’s under our protection. I usually get a message when she’s been, but with everything happening: the girls getting abducted, Cam getting shot, and being pregnant, I hadn’t even thought to check as I’d ended it.
That conniving bitch.
“You okay? You look really angry?” Cam whispers.
I look up and see her pinning me with her sparkling blue eyes, her hair all over the place from sleep.
“He’s awake, I can take him. He’s due a feed soon anyway.” She reaches her hands for me to give him to her. “Sorry I fell asleep.”
I get up and move to give her our son.
“You have nothing to be sorry for,angelo. I was just dealing with some business.” Tilting her chin up, I place a kiss to her sweet lips.
“Everything okay?”
“I’m not sure yet. Nothing for you to worry about though,bella. You just concentrate on healing.”
Nothing for her to worry about?
It’s going to fucking gut her if Jade is carrying my child. The dates suggest she’s a few weeks ahead of Cam. For all I know, she’s already had the child. Jake’s looking into birth records as we speak.
I saw the pain in Cam’s eyes when she thought I was still fucking Jade when we got married. She puts on a strong front, my wife, but deep down she’s fragile. And I don’t want to be the one to break her.
I really needed to sort this shit out.

Cam’s been home for six weeks now.
I’ve bought an apartment three floors down for Sergio and his wife. He didn’t want to move her into the apartment he shares with Cam’s other guard. I can’t blame him, and since Mel is helping Cam out with Andrea, it’s handy having her in the building.
It means I’m finally able to get into the office and discuss my absolute clusterfuck of a situation with the guys, face-to-face.
Leo’s given me more time than he would afford to anyone else. But rightly so, he wants this shit ironed out.
“How’s your wife taken the news?” Enzo snorts.
“Seeing as she just had major fucking surgery and had my son, there hasn’t really been an appropriate time to say, ‘Hey by the way, Andrea isn’t an only child.’”
“Fucking idiot.” Leo slaps Enzo across the head.
