“Hey,piccolina,” I coo. “I know this is all scary right now, but I’m going to be your new momma. Both your mommies love you very much.” I kiss her tiny little face as I take in the beauty of her.
Al comes back into the lounge holding a hungry and grizzly Andrea.
“Hey now,ometto, you’ll scare your little sister. You need to be big and brave. You’ll have to look after her always.” Al rocks Andrea as he strolls into the room.
“Well, at least their feeding schedule is similar, thank goodness for that,” I giggle.
Al hands me Andrea as he takes Aurora in his arms.
I sit on the couch and put Andrea to the breast as I smile down at him.
Our little family of three has just become a four, and it couldn’t be more perfect.
Al wraps his free arm around my shoulder as he pulls me into his side. I lean into his hold as I place my head on his chest.
“I love you, Al.”
“I love you too,angelo,always.”
