"It means whatever we want it to mean.I just want you near."

"I would never say no to that."He kissed her gently, with love instead of passion."Oh, Jason.I want you so much, and I wish...”

He stopped her from finishing her statement."Not now.Let's go, get some rest, then enjoy the remaining time we have together.Your wish will be my command," he grinned.

"I know just the thing."

He didn't guess what. Her bed might not be grand, but they could make some wonderful memories in it.

She parked in the alley, and he grabbed her hand, leading her upstairs. He no longer worried that Carl would show his face, instead he wished he would so that Jason could move on and put the incident behind them.

The landing was empty and once her door was unlocked, they entered the mouse house, and he eyed the bed.It might not be adequate for what he had in mind, but in his exhausted state it could be exactly enough.

"I'll be back in a sec," Stephanie told him, searching a box for her one and only sexy nighty to put on.When she returned, Jason was sound asleep. What must have been hours later he blinked and opened his eyes.He was fully clothed, and Stephanie was wearing only silky underwear.

He heard her soft snores and left to freshen up in the bathroom. When he returned, she was fully dressed, wearing a big smile that was the perfect accessory.

"Are you feeling good after your wonderful nap?"

"I am.A little embarrassed that I wasn't up for the task I'd hoped to be, but I don't need to leave until tomorrow."

She kissed him."Okay, onward and out.Let's enjoy the last few hours of sunlight and make another first."

"I like the sound of that.Very much."

"Do you mind if we skipyour park today and go to mine?I don't feel like driving again if that's alright with you?"

"Sounds good."

She linked her arm through Jason’s as they walked a mile to Harmony's biggest park.It didn't have a zoo but it did have a lake, frozen now, and a painted Carousel with twinkling lights and playful music. In the summer they'd bring in tents and games for family entertainment but they were long gone now.

Only one small restaurant was open on weekends and the ice skating rink.

It took them about twenty minutes to reach the entrance of the park, but she hurried him along, eager for their next first.

"Why are we rushing?"he asked, stopping and glancing around."This might not be grand but it sure is pretty.Snow-covered fir trees, sparkling pinecones, the sun peeking in and out through the heavy branches. And you."

She grinned at him."I know we should slow down but it will be dark soon and I have a few things to show you.Have you ever skated before?"

"Not since I got kicked off the elementary school ice hockey team.”

“They kicked you off? That’s awful.I’m sure you were much better than they were.”

“No,” Jason said “I’d get angry every time I was pushed around and landed face-first in the icy slush.I didn’t like the sport.”

"Ouch. That's awful. My brothers both played ice hockey through high school and won a bunch of trophies.”Trey and Chase were five and seven years older.“I went to a few of their games and loved seeing them on ice.I never learned."She bumped his arm.“I think skating could count as a first, don’t you?”

"Sure it could, but I have a better idea right now."

Jason bent over, packed a snowball and threw it at her. They were laughing hard, tossing the flaky snow, and running after each other until they collapsed.Lying on the ground, peering up at the sky, Jason grinned."You know something?"

"What?"She loved simply looking at him.

"How perfect is this?Being here with you.Nicole might get her kidney and old Henry turns into a hero. What a day!"Jason turned on his side, head in his hand, ignoring the snow."Occasionally the world can surprise you.I never thought I'd see you again, never dreamed I'd be able to kiss you, love you, or have a snowball fight together."

She laughed and pushed herself up, dragging him with her."Come on, we have so much more to do before dark."
