“What happened?” she asked, pulling back with a pounding heart. “Where’s Taveon?”

“Look.” Norah pointed.

Bree turned to see a very familiar stone building. Light fae banners rippled in the wind, and confused students were spilling out of its doors, glancing around. “It’s Otherworld Academy. The realms merged?”

Norah smiled and tipped back her head to stare up at the sky. Daylight. “You merged the realms, and the enemy fell. Almost instantly, they all turned to ash, including the Grand Master.”

Bree climbed to her feet, her whole body throbbing with pain. “But what about Taveon? Where is he?”

“I’m here.”

Bree whirled on her feet to find her mate standing before her with a lopsided smile on his usually stoic face. His eyes held hints of pain, but he was here. He was alive. And nothing would ever take him away from her again. Without another word, she launched herself into his arms.

“You’re here,” she whispered into his chest.

“I will always be here.”
