“Shane, no!” Raika shouted.
Conri’s eyebrows lifted for one brief second. “What do you know about the crystals?”
“I know you’re after them. Isn’t that why Lorie and Keeva were here? To find and retrieve the crystals for you? And now they are dead.”
He stood quiet for a moment. “You know how to access the crystals?”
I nodded—a lie. “I do, and I’ll tell you how to do that, on one condition: You let Raika and the others go.”
Conri stared at me for a moment. Deep down, I knew he wouldn’t agree to that. He had kept them here for so long he wouldn’t let them go now.
But he surprised me when he said, “Deal.”
