“You like it?”

“I love it,” I tell her. I have the overwhelming urge to kiss her, to mark her, to make her mine. I know what they all said downstairs, and it’s true. I think she’s the one. No, I know she is.

She makes me want to be better. To take a chance on love, even if it ends someday. I want to know what it will be like to be loved again. God, I sound like a pussy.

I don’t give a fuck.

“Look, let me say what I have to say before anything else is said or done. This,” I gesture to the metal name she had made for me.

“This is something I will cherish because it came from you. From the minute I saw you, something wouldn’t let me forget you. I knew I needed to save you so you could save me. You are the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing on my mind before I fall asleep.

I know I messed up the other day with that other woman. But ever since you wrapped your arms around me, I only want it to be you. This gift, is a reminder that someone cares about me. That someone is waiting for my call, and wanting to hear about my day. This gift will be placed on my bike, and it will show everyone that I have someone’s heart and it beats for me, it waits for me.”

I run a hand through my hair and take a deep breath to continue,“You are special. I knew it from the minute we met. I didn’t know that rescuing you would give me a chance on…well, everything.”

She has tears streaming down her face as she spoke, “I will admit I was scared of you the first time I met you. And then when you made a bet for me, I thought my hell would continue.

You make me want to be a better person—for you. I’ve wanted you from the minute my hand touched yours. I just never said anything because I didn’t think you wanted me, especially after you said you didn’t want a relationship. You were my knight in shining leather granting me freedom from my tower prison. In my darkness, it’s your light that shines. I want to be yours, to be your peace and mine. I just want you.”

When she finishes, I pull her toward me, “What have you done to me, Everleigh Harper?”

“I should be asking you that, Outlaw.”

“Callum. My real name is Callum.”

“Callum.”

She says my name softly, but I hear it like it’s being shouted from the roof top. I love hearing my name on her lips.

“I made you mine,” I lean down and brush my lips against hers, sparks flying as I caress her lips.

“I was yours the minute you placed your bet and won,” she says, reaching up to cup my cheek.

“My prize.”

“All yours. Always and forever,” she whispers.

She leans up to kiss me so I meet her halfway. Our lips merge and I feel a thrill across my being; something I have never felt before while kissing a girl but that’s the thing. She is not any girl; she is my girl. One that has me ready to walk the path I have always dreaded. Even if I still had it in me, I wouldn’t be able to turn back. I am far too deep. It would do more harm to leave than stay. I choose to stay and forget my casual sex life while overcoming my fears. This -whatever I feel and whatever Everleigh has me on- is worth losing everything I deemed fun. I don’t see the rest of my life with anyone but her.
