I didn’t wait. I gripped as tight to him as I could. I pressed my body up against his, not even thinking to keep my breasts from squeezing up against his sides. I thought his armor would be hard and cold, but somehow it felt as warm as his skin. It must have been somehow connected to him at a molecular level and was directly venting his excess heat. I obeyed, sliding my grip down a bit, and squeezing my hands tight together right over the armor on his torso. As he lifted the weapon, I could feel his ab muscles tensing and moving through the armor.
The bubble formed. I don’t know where it came from, but one moment we were standing there, and the next a bubble was forming around us.
He fired the gun. I was expecting some kind of plasma discharge, or an explosion maybe. Instead, nothing happened, save for the bubble suddenly becoming completely hard and opaque. A fraction of a second later, I felt movement, like the whole bubble was moving. I gripped tighter to Kaav.
“Are we in space?” I shouted.
“Yes,” he said.
“How can you steer? I can’t even see anything!”
