She raised the wrench higher, but Kyran merely snatched it from her hands and put it back on the hook. He kissed her cheek, but then he took a step back, anger besetting his features. Clenching his fist, he said to me, “I’ll tell Max about the Gideon situation and that you’re hosting the meeting here. That way, you can stay local for the next meeting. It’ll do Harrison and the boy good to get out of that house for a while. I’ll be back later.”
“Sure.” My eyes flitted between Kyran and Grace, wondering what the fuck was going on. “See you then.”
“Call me if you need anything before that, brother.”
And with that, he was gone.
“Gracie?” I murmured questioningly, her hand hovering over the place where Kyran had kissed her. She blinked hard at her name.
“Yeah?”
“You’re a good person.”
She rolled her eyes. “That’s another way of saying I’m a pushover. But on this, I need you to trust me. Savannah isn’t as bad as you think she is.”
“On that, we’ll have to agree to disagree. See you tonight.”
“I hate you for putting me in this position.” She pouted.
I dropped a kiss on her cheek and winked. “I owe you one.”
Leaving her to it, I headed back to my cabin, my home, where my base floor gym waited for me to release the mounting tension before I ‘accidentally’ bumped into the bounty hunter later on tonight.
I planned to play with Savannah for a while before chewing her up and spitting her out to return empty-handed to her client with a message of a big fuck you. The attraction was there enough for me to do so. I may as well enjoy myself while reaping vengeance. After all, Savannah had the nerve to seek me out with the promise of payment from the likes of Gideon, so I wouldn’t find it a hardship to fuck her a few times and rock her tainted world.
That made me feel better. That made me feel more in control.
Anything to see the smug grin fall from her face when I told her I knew her dirty little secret.
