“Of course you did. But I can already hear them getting antsy down there, so you’ll have to wait.” I sucked a tiny hickey on the inside of her thigh. “You can stay here if you want, though. I’ll take the kids and give you and Dinora a few hours off.”

“It’s okay, I want to come so I can hold your hand and die every time you touch my skin.” Mia sat up with a smile and started stripping off her uniform, making me regret telling her she had to wait.

But if she wanted me to tease her, I could do that.

I left her to get ready in peace and wrangled all five kids into Mia’s Suburban, then told Jago he was driving. “You only need a few more hours and this’ll help. You can show Titi how good you’ve gotten.”

He was nervous, but he grabbed the keys and jumped in the driver’s seat without a word.

Valentino, on the other hand, had words. “We’re all gonna die tonight, cool. Bless me Father, for I have sinned. It has been my whole life since my last confession, but please let me into Heaven. I’m too handsome for Hell.”

I blinked a couple of times as I glanced back at him, expecting to see a tiny version of me. “You should work on that, bud. Confession can be liberating.”

“Can it?” Carlo asked. “You’ve done it?”

“Of course. It’s been a couple of years, but yeah.” Please don’t ask me what I confessed. Please don’t ask me what I confessed. Please don’t ask me wh—

“Cool.” They didn’t push, they seemed to understand that something like that was personal. I felt Mia’s hand slide up my shoulder and squeeze, and I wondered if she’d follow their lead or ask me later ... but it honestly didn’t matter either way. I had no secrets from her.

The laser tag arena was set up with a Tiki theme — there were sculptures all over the place and some had fire in their open mouths, there were torches and colorful orchids everywhere, which made me grin. “They’d be better with monkey faces, yeah?”

“Absolutely,” Mia agreed, but Alex shook his head with wide eyes.

“No! Those flowers were creepy, one of them fell off the stem when I was eating cereal and I swear it was staring at me like it would kill me.”

I felt a little bad about that, but I didn’t regret it, not for a second. “So Mia, Jago and Valentino against the rest of us?”

“You’re on,” Jago challenged, high fiving his aunt and brother like they had it in the bag, but based on the other boys’ faces ... we weren’t going down without a fight.

Once we were given the tutorial, our headbands, and our phasers, we split up and went to our separate bases. I was glad for Rio’s sake that we didn’t have to wear the heavy vests, but his curls kept getting pinned under the headband and the tips were poking him in the eye.

“Here, Little Hombre. Like this.” I tucked my tongue between my teeth and fixed it for him, but the delay meant we missed the starting gun. “Crap. Okay, guys. Set phasers to kick ass, okay?” I whispered. “And don’t ever repeat that word. It’s bad.”

“Crap or ass?” Rio asked in a sharp whisper, then covered his mouth like he didn’t mean to say either. “Don’t tell Mamá.”

“Oh God,” I rushed out. “Neither. Crap might be okay these days, I don’t know ... but don’t say either in front of her. Your secret is safe with me.”

I winked at him and told him to go with Carlo after Jago, then sent Alex after Valentino. As for me, I had my sights set on Mia Camilla Perez, but I had no intention of shooting her.

Too bad I couldn’t say the same for her. The moment I saw her, she shot me right in the head, and I yelped in surprise before holding my ear like she’d really hit me.

“So rough, woman! Why?”

“¡Ay, bendito!” Mia grinned as she shot me again. “Want me to kiss it and make it better?”

I pouted and nodded as my headband flashed for a second time and told me I only had one hit left. “Be nice to your child, if you TKO me, he won’t win,” I said. “And I want two kisses for the two hits you stole.”

She looked surprised as I pushed her against the back of one of the tiki statues and rubbed her pussy through her jeans, but she melted into it almost instantly. “You’re going to get us in trouble, Papí. Don’t stop.”

“Shame I can’t just take you right here. Murderous Mia is kinda hot,” I admitted, upping the pressure enough to make her gasp.

“Next time we go somewhere, I’ll wear a skirt ... alone though. No kids.”

“Deal.”

I pulled back, but not fast enough to stop us from getting yelled at by one of the employees. He didn’t see anything other than us being too close, so I took that as a good sign and dashed off to find my team.

Jago was already out thanks to Carlo’s surprising sharpshooting skills, but Rio was shaking his phaser like he was mad at it.
