She was ashamed to admit that she thought Tristan might look for her. It seemed egotistical. But she was more worried that he would follow her than her family.

“My father probably would not spend one dollar looking for me,” Violet said.

She sat back down at the computer terminal. But at the last second, she got up. She couldn’t email him. It was too immediate. If he was awake, he’d know right then that she was leaving. It would be too late to intercept her, but still. It was too close.

She picked up a legal pad and tore a piece of the yellow paper off. She found a felt pen and began to write. Her handwriting wasn’t the best, but it was faster than her typing, which was pretty bad, thanks to lack of practice.

Hello Tristan,

I am sorry. But I have left Nova Scotia in Canada all together. Please do not look for me. You will not find me. And more importantly, I do not want to be found.

Thank you for showing me that there are kind wolf shifters out there. I wish you all the best.

Violet

It was a paltry letter. He deserved better. Which was one reason she had to cut him loose now. The sooner the better, before he became even more attached.

She missed him constantly. But she did not call him, or write to him, or email him.

Finland was just as beautiful as she expected. Its landscapes rivaled those of Nova Scotia.

It sucked that Tristan wasn’t there. But that was why she had come. To get away from him. Forever.
