He smiled. “I really do need to meet Ms. James. She’s got you wrapped around her finger,” he said.

“She’s carrying my child, Elias. I can make certain allowances.”

“Yeah, I’m sure that’s it,” my brother said in a way that left no doubt he didn’t believe that at all.

“But there are things that I can handle from here,” I said.

“There are. And I’m going to need you,” he said, his eyes narrowing as he leaned forward.

“I’ll be here,” I said.

It was a lot.

But I had Amethyst back and would soon have my child.

Everything else would take care of itself.
