“How’s it going, finding a place?” I look over at Jordan as she lies on my bed, feet kicking in the air watching the soccer with me.
“Good, actually.” She glances back. “Claudia found a place she likes in Paddington.”
“Oh, good,” I tell her and she holds my eyes, an emotion flickering over her face that I can’t place.
“You done with me?” she asks, smiling a bit.
Nothing on my face falters but my eyebrow.
“I’m joking!” She laughs, smacking my leg.
I shift on the bed, lie down on my side next to her, rest my head on my hand.
“We probably need to have a chat.”
She rolls her eyes a little. “You’re in love with another woman.”
“Very much so.” I nod once before I give her a grimace.
She gives me an amused smile. “It’s hardly breaking news.”
I sigh. “I wondered if you knew.”
Her face pulls, unimpressed. “Did you also wonder if I knew that trees are green?”
I give her a look and she matches it.
“Jords, why did you stay? If you knew.” I frown a little, trying to figure it out.
“Because you’re fun.” She gives me a playful shove. “It was fun being your girlfriend—” She pauses and pulls a face. “Most of the time.”
I roll onto my back, covering my face. “I’ve felt so shit—”
“You should, you wanker! Using me like that—” She punches me in the arm. “Lucky for you, I was using you too.”
I give her a curious look and she shrugs lightly.
“My followers have tripled since we’ve been together.”
I roll my eyes. “Henry was right.”
She rolls onto her back too, staring up at the ceiling.
“Mmhm.” She nods, flashing me a smile. “He’s a really good judge of character,” she says, tossing her phone up and catching it again.
“I felt bad at first, but then I checked your iPhone’s search history back in December.”
My face pulls uncomfortably.
“I did like you—” She nudges me and I let out a bewildered laugh. “Like, when we first met.”
“Oh, thanks.” I toss her a sarcastic look.
She ignores me.
