“She found out it was Paili a little over a year ago, yeah? Then she left for a year. She didn’t think about it, she ignored it, she avoided you and it at all costs.”
I cross my arms over my chest, staring at him.
“Then she comes back, sees you again, loves you again — or still — depending on how you look at it.” He shrugs to himself. “And is just now, for the first time since it happened, actually dealing with you fucking Pails.”
I stare at him.
“Now, with that timeline in mind — she’s really only been dealing with it for about 5 months.”
I frown over at him, but I’m tracking. I guess it makes sense.
“Someone should tell her that’s not really how time works.” I eye him as I toss back my beer.
