Two years later…

“How has it already been two years since we made things official?”

Andrew shakes his head. I love how bewildered by time he is. The light, Italian breeze rustles his sandy blonde hair as we stand on the balcony of our hotel room, waiting for Hazel to get ready. We’re at the very hotel we were at when we first got together, for the third time now.

“It’s really flown by, hasn’t it?”

I’m chuckling more than I should at the joke as Andrew shakes his head with a smile. He grabs my hand and kisses my knuckles.

I’m more amazed at how he still makes my heart absolutely thump after all this time. My free hand is clutching the tiny box in my hand like it’s a life force.

“Do you think she’ll like it?”

“No. I think she’llloveit.”

Andrew and I are proposing to Hazel in however long it takes Hazel to get ready.

The conversation between Andrew and I went along the lines of, “Isn’t being a throuple awesome? I get to be with my two best friends, all the time.”

I said something along the lines of wanting to do it forever and it feeling like this is exactly where I’m supposed to be in the world. Andrew agreed, and I told him I loved him. He told me he loved me back, and then we discussedactuallydoing this forever.

The two of us debated for a really long time about whether we should get Hazel separate rings or not. Are we all supposed to wear two rings? In the end, we decided to get a triple banded ring. Each band is one of us, joined together by a diamond that is as strong as our love for each other.

A plane booms above us and Andrew angles his head back to watch it, giving me a perfect view of his stubbled jaw and Adam’s apple.

“I can’t believe Sutton Air is finally open and doing so well. How the hell did we get here? I mean, think about it. If we had never met Hazel, little Miss Burgess might not have gotten jealous and forced us to quit and start our own airline.”

“She’s brought more amazing things to our life than I’m sure we can even imagine right now. SuttonAir is our baby. There’s no way the three of us would let it fail.”

It’s true. Seeing it finally open after all the work, all the building. getting permits, keeping up with codes and dealing with the business side of things- it’s satisfying in ways that I can’t even explain.

For the longest time, Andrew and I felt like we should give it one of our names, but after debating for way too long, we decided Hazel’s last name was the perfect choice.

After all, Andrew’s right. Without her, this wouldn’t have happened for us, especially given all the help she’s been, business and motivation wise. We wanted to name it after someone we both love more than anything.

The french doors to the balcony fly open.

Wind combs through Hazel’s hair and her green eyes are brighter than ever. She’s wearing a tight maroon dress that shows off her ridiculously gorgeous figure. Somehow, the color makes her freckles pop even more.

“Bonjour!”

Hazel’s smile reaches her eyes.

“Hazel, we’re in Naples, not Paris.”

She laughs.

“Oh, sorry! You’re right! Bonjourno!”

I watch as Andrew wrangles her, with his strong arms wrapped around her middle. She yelps and giggles as he plants kisses on her neck. Watching the two of them only reminds me of how it’s possible to be so in love with two people.

She’s everything and more. She’s so incredibly sexy. And so is he.

Hazel moves to the balcony railing and looks across the city. Her smile is pure bliss as she inhales.

“Is it wild? The three of us being back here?”
