She didn’t mention to Emmy that by promenading she wouldn’t have to be held in Dash’s arms.

Dita could always rely on her friend for clear deductive reasoning.

“I agree. I just see this information of their gambling debts as the first step in our data gathering.”

Emmy pulled her gloves back on. “We must return to the ball.”

Dita jumped from the settee. “I’m ready.”

Having a scouting mission would help distract her from the anticipation and dread of being close to Dash. And what a whopper that she could almost believe… almost as believable as leprechauns and fairies dancing in the woods.
