ChapterThirteen

Ringing invades my brain in the most unwelcome way.

I crack open my eyes, which feel swollen, and glance at the clock. It’s worse than I thought. I’ve only managed about an hour’s sleep. I’m going to spend the day looking like an extra from The Walking Dead.

The ringing continues even though I try to telepathically make it stop. When that fails to work, I reach over the hard body beside me and fumble blindly for my cell. I answer it without seeing who it is as a certain sexy someone opens their eyes and looks up at me.

Yeah, I’m going to need some emergency sex this morning.

“This better be the lottery people telling me I’m a billionaire.”

Deep laughter washes over me from both in front of me and over the cell phone, but the one on the phone cuts out abruptly, making me sigh.

“Who’s that?” Blink questions. Thankfully, there is no anger in his voice, only curiosity. At least for now.

“That would be Graves. Apparently, he thinks I’m funny too.” I wink at the man in question, whose hands begin to wander now that he’s awake.

“Graves? What’s he doing at your place?” And now, there is a hint of something else in his tone. Not anger per se, but jealousy that he’s trying hard to hide.

“He’s not at my house. I’m at his. I live here now. Look, there is a lot we need to talk about. Now that the rain has stopped, how about you pick up Vega and come over for breakfast?” I offer, looking directly at Graves to make sure he’s cool with it. I meant what I said about sharing. It’s better to see if he’s cool with it now than later down the line when feelings are involved.

“Okay,” he says slowly. “Want me to pick something up on the way?”

“Donuts. I need a cheat day, and if I’m going to cheat with anything, it’s those tempting little hoe balls that whisper ‘eat me’ in my ear in the middle of the night.”

Graves is flat-out grinning now, but I’m not joking. Donuts are the devil’s work.

“I worry about you, Mal. I’m starting to think you’ve taken too many blows to the head.”

“I’ll have you know, out of all my friends, I’m considered the sane one,” I tell him smugly as Graves’s hands slide up under my T-shirt to cup my breasts.

“I’m not gonna lie, Mal. That’s not all that reassuring.” He hangs up before I can cuss him out.

“You think I’m sane, right?” I ask, tossing my cell on the bedside table before whipping my T-shirt up over my head and dropping it.

“Huh? What was the question?”

“Never mind. I should have asked you before I blinded you with my headlights.”

He’s hard, so damn hard that if I just adjust the angle a little, he’ll be able to slide right in.

“We’re all a little crazy, Mal. I guess that’s why we gravitate toward each other.”

“Are you saying you’re crazy?” I tease as I slide myself up and down his dick, coating the length of him with my arousal.

“Shit, babe, you have no idea just how fucking crazy I am.”

And then there is no more time for talking as he flips me over and fucks me doggy style, much to my inner slut’s delight.

I’m taking my first sip of coffee when Graves walks into the kitchen with Vega and Blink behind him. I keep the mug pressed to my lips as I look over the rim at them, waiting to see who is going to break the awkward silence that has accompanied their arrival.

Blink places a large box of donuts on the counter as Vega makes a beeline for me.

“Morning, gorgeous.” He presses a kiss on my temple. The tension in the room begins to dissipate, but part of me is still wary.

“Hey.” I offer him a smile. It must belay my worry since he bends down and whispers in my ear.
