Her Sai.

And then, right before her rounded, astounded eyes, the entire body of the dragon leapt into the air like a silver ribbon in the distance.

Her breath froze in her throat as she stared, as the diamond eyes of the serpent met hers, and a toothy smile spread across his maw, before he dove under again in a series of loops, flicking his tail at the end in an extravagant splash.

Brigid couldn’t help grinning so wide herself, her face hurt.

That washerdragon!

He hadn’t left her. He was playing and happy! And from what she saw, he was strong again. Fully healed. His scales had flashed brightly in the sun, almost blinding her. There were no wounds. No gaps in his outer armor.

He looked perfect. He was everything she’d dreamed and more.

She didn’t know how long she stood there, eyes trained on the horizon, waiting for another glimpse of that gorgeous, silver dragon. He didn’t appear again, not even the hint of a scale, for a long time.

Until, a human head and then shoulders appeared above the waves. Followed by the manliest chest she’d ever seen.

(Not that Brigid had seen a great many naked manly chests, but shehadwitnessed a number of brawny laborers in the Highlands without their shirts throughout the years).

Point being—none of them compared. Not even in the same universe of comparison.

And then, as Sai walked closer, his torso was fully revealed, etched with corrugated abdominals and twin carved ropes sitting directly above his hips.

Brigid felt her jaw dropping, but she was helpless to pick it up.

Too busy staring wide-eyed at the man of her dreams’ hairless groin, and the impressive…erm…unicorn horn that jutted between his steely thighs.

Pointing right at her as he walked out of the water and onto the beach.

Well, it wasn’t exactly the shape of a horn. It was more cylindrical than conical, but the base was definitely thicker than the plump, bulb-like tip. It curved a little upwards rather than sticking straight out like a horn. So, maybe more like a rhinoceros tusk instead, in terms of that tantalizing arch.

Except, that analogy didn’t quite work either, because the tip had a tiny slit that winked at her.

Goodness, but his horn was large when viewed this close. He was standing immediately before her now. If she moved an inch forward, the knuckles of her hand, wrapped around his clothes, would graze it.

The swollen knob of his horn leaked a sparkling, clear liquid from its tiny mouth. It even bobbed and clenched as she stared at it, as if it was nodding or bowing at her.

As perfect a gentleman as its owner.

“Brigid,” Sai rumbled above her in his silkiest, dark chocolate voice.

“My clothes?”

She licked her lips, still staring at his endowment with head bowed.

There was something so very mesmerizing about his…horn. She wanted to lick it like candy. Taste the bead of crystal pearl on her tongue. She was certain it would be sweet, somehow. She wanted to feel that throbbing knob fill her empty mouth.

He stepped forward, closing the inches that separated them. Until the back of her hands did touch his satiny hot skin, dotted with moisture from the sea.

That was when she realized that he wasn’t hairless all over as she’d assumed. This close, she could see the superfine, almost transparent hairs covering his skin, like the fine hairs she had, all but invisible.

“Remarkable,” she murmured, unable to stop staring.

Or to even close her mouth.

Or to raise her head, too transfixed by the miles and miles of flawless male skin over perfectly proportioned muscles (apart from one perfectlydisproportionalmasculine endowment).

Until a finger under her chin slowly tipped it upwards, and she could do nothing else but raise her eyes to his.
