Chapter Twenty-Three
Andrea
Declan edged toward her,Andrea taking a shaky step backward, holding up her hands. “Declan, wait.”
His growl of frustration felt like a stroke along her body but he halted his pursuit of her. “When I heard someone at the piano, I knew it was you. It felt like with each note, you were calling me to you, like a siren. I watched the look of ecstasy on your face, Andi and yano what I was thinking about?” Declan asked her and when she shook her head, he took a step forward, he gave her a wolfish grin.
“I was wondering if your face would look like that when I made you come.”
Andrea bit back a groan, trying to convince her face to give off an emotionless mask, even if she couldn’t still the rapid beating of her heart or cool the heat in her veins. Her face felt flush and her breasts felt tight, and her knickers already felt wet and ready for Declan to make her orgasm.
“You can keep wondering, Declan. It’s never going to happen.”
His lips curved deeper into a smug smirk that plucked on Andrea’s temper. She wanted to throw something at him, and she wanted to slap some sense into herself, but she couldn’t help but want to feel those talented fingers play her body like the strings of his favourite guitar.
“We’ve been having this verbal foreplay for years, Andi.Years. I’ve stroked myself to madness, your name a curse on my lips. I had the thought that I was a stupid kid who was too afraid of losing you and that I wasn’t your first. Those nights with you on the other side of the wall were slow torture.”
Declan took another step toward her and she shook her head, unable to stop herself from wanting him. Andrea tried to convince herself that she could be strong, walk right out that door but inside she knew she couldn’t.
“Jesus Christ, Andi...I’m gonna go mad if I don’t touch you.”
His words seemed to break through the haze of her lust and it gave her a brief moment of clarity. Everything Declan said, it was all about him. He would go mad if he didn’t touch her, he was pissed he hadn’t been her first but what abouther? He had slept with a skanky bitch without thinking about what it would do to her and then he had treated her like shit.
It was almost enough to douse the flames of desire kindling inside of her and she found the strength to move, shaking her head with a string of curse words before she headed toward the exit and away from all this insanity.
Declan grabbed her arm, holding her in place, and she snapped her head around to glare at him, trying to let him see the venom in her eyes, and yet, one look into his blue eyes and the heat in them and she knew she was lost.
Andrea wasn't sure who moved first, him, her, or both of them at the same time but then Declan’s hands cupped her face, his lips crashing hard against hers and if she thought she was on fire before, it was nothing compared to the inferno that engulfed her now.
What started out as a deceptive crescendo burst into a heart stopping climax as she gave in to her body, parted her lips, and let Declan lap his tongue against hers, his hands in her hair until she struggled to breathe, to think, to comprehend the vicious drumbeat of her heart.
She felt the hardness of him against her stomach, and she couldn’t stop the moan that escaped her lips, vibrating the kiss as Declan continued to devour her mouth. Andrea had fantasied about kissing Declan so many times but her mind paled in comparison to this brutal claiming that made her feel like she would explode with one single touch.
Declan broke the kiss and immediately looked deep into her eyes, taking a deep breath before he took her mouth once more, and then she was kissing him back with a fever, tasting and sucking, her eyes closing as she lost herself to madness and didn’t care if she ever felt sane again.
Hands blazed a trail down her arms, her waist, then Declan’s hands cupped her ass and hoisted her up to sit on the sturdy piano. She wrapped her legs around his waist as Declan slipped his hands under her tee and cupped her breasts, his thumbs pressed hard against her pert nipples.
When Andrea let her head fall back, a moan echoing throughout the room, Declan growled and licked up the curve of her neck before he bit down gently and her entire body jerked, wanting and needing more of what Declan was doing to her.
Reaching down between them, she pulled the strings of his shorts and made to slip her hand into the waistband so she could feel the rigid length of him in the palm of her hand when Declan wrapped his fingers around her wrist.
“Fuck, Andi. Ya, I ...I won’t be able to stop if you touch me and I need to lock the door. The guys could walk in any minute and I don’t want them to see us.”
I don’t want them to see us.
It was as if ice-cold water was poured over Andrea and instantly she felt utter shame and horror at what she almost let happen. She had fooled herself that Declan had changed and it was her own fault. Here she was, cut open, body and soul and he still didn’t want to be seen with her.
Andrea didn’t know an already broken heart could shatter further but here she was bleeding out.
Shoving Declan away from her, his eyes confused as she got down off the piano and righted her clothes, hating the way her eyes teared up. Declan made to reach for her and she flinched, the action making him stop.
“Hey, what happened?”
Andrea wasn’t sure if she could verbalize exactly what she wanted to say to him, but the pure look of confusion all over his face only fuelled her anger. She put her hands on his chest and shoved him hard. “How dare you! How fucking dare you!” She was yelling now but Andrea didn’t care.
“Is this all a game to you, Declan? Let’s toy with Andi and see how much more shit she can take? Is this revenge? Is this punishment for me standing you up? Because if it is, then well done, you’ve succeeded in killing whatever feelings that I had for you.”
Declan’s eyes widened for a split second, and Andrea wondered if he even realized what he had said to incite her anger. “Andi, I don’t understand. I don’t want to hurt you.”
