BEAU

The kiss was more than I’d planned, but once I let him in, I couldn’t stop. He wasn’t pushing me away, and I wasn’t letting him go. I couldn’t stop myself from running my hands through his hair, feeling his soft strands beneath my fingers.

He slid his fingers through the loop of my jeans and drew me to him, groin to groin. There was no mistaking his arousal, and just the thought of what we could do together, in a bed or right here in this room, had me rubbing myself against him, shamelessly thrusting my now very erect cock against his.

Aware we had things to discuss, I broke away from him, short of breath.

His kisses were better than anything I’d experienced before. I’d be sad to not have them again, but I wanted to remind him just how good we could be together.

“Wow, that was…just wow,” he stammered as he rubbed the back of his neck.

As smug as I felt, I just looked at him and waited for him to decide what it was he wanted to do. If he decided he couldn’t do it, I’d leave him to it and go home, but I was hoping he’d at least give us a chance.

“Ok, so that was more than good.” He turned towards the window, looking up to the ceiling. “Oh, God. I can’t. I just can’t.”

Fuck. This was it then. Good job it was a good kiss to end our brief relationship. I’d best be off. I’d be just in time to get the next train back to Liverpool without it being too late.

“Thanks, Kwan. It was good while it lasted.”

“That’s not… I meant I can’t just leave it here. Don’t leave…please. Come with me this afternoon. Meet my parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and every Tom, Dick or Harry that’ll be there. I’m not ready to give you up, not ready to leave us like this.”

He turned and looked at me, but before we could say anymore, the door burst open and in came two whirlwinds. There was no other word to describe them. They made a beeline for Kwan, and he scooped them up into his arms, kissing them on their cheeks.

“Beau. Meet Kwang-Sun and Chung-Hee, my nephews and a bundle of trouble.”

Hana bustled in after them. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Let me take them from you.”

“No, it’s ok. I’ve got them.” He jiggled them in his arms, laughing as he did so. “Beau and I were just talking about going to dinner this afternoon. He’s joining us, aren’t you, Beau?”

He looked at me, eyebrow raised, and I nodded.

“Yes, I’m joining you. I don’t know what will happen or how it’ll go, but, yeah, if Kwan wants me to go, I’ll go.”

“That settles it,” he said. “We’ve a couple of hours so time to play with these little monkeys.”

We spent the next couple of hours with the boys; building Lego, playing with the cars and making pretend cakes in the tiny kitchen. By the time it was time to go, my back ached and I struggled to stand.

Kwan held out his hand, slowly pulling me to my feet and into his strong arms. God, he smelled good, and the feel of his defined muscles beneath his T-shirt had me wanting to stay here, encased in his hug.

“Are you ready for this?” he asked, “Not sure what’ll happen, but just say the word, and we can leave anytime you want to.”

“I think so, and I’ll be fine. I’m a big boy, Kwan. I’ll be okay. I’m more worried about you.”

“I have to do this. I can’t keep us, you, any of this a secret anymore. If the guys find out, well, I’ll deal with that if and when it becomes a problem. I’m not going to lie anymore. I want to give us a try. I hope you do too.”

We left the house, choosing to walk, while Hana, Olly and the twins went in the car. He reached for my hand, and I let him take it this time, reminding me of our ‘date’ only a few days earlier.

“Are you nervous about meeting the family?”

“A little, I suppose, but I’ll be ok. I’m looking forward to it, actually. I love Korean food, and if your sister is anything to go by, it’ll be…interesting.”

“That’s one word for it.” He lifted my hand to his lips and kissed it. “I’m nervous, but I think it’s about time.”

We stopped outside a double-fronted restaurant, plate glass windows giving an unobstructed view inside. People milled about inside, more than I’d been expecting, but we’d decided to do this. Kwan had decided to do this, and I was here to support him.

I watched him as he took a deep breath, squeezing his hand for support.

All eyes turned to us as we walked in the door, but not once did he let go of my hand, walking proudly up to Hana and giving her a kiss on the cheek.
