As for me, my screenplay was picked up and made into a movie. It’s set to release next month and I can’t wait to go to opening night. I have another one in the works right now too and I have high hopes that someone will buy it too.

I ended up ignoring my parents for a few weeks but I knew that I couldn’t cut them out of my life. Hayes helped me work through my feelings and shared his insights and I called them back about three weeks after everything happened.

I needed to forgive them and also invite them to our wedding. They had taken the news well and I’m assuming that I could have said anything and they would have been okay with it as long as I was talking to them again. Luckily for me, they adore Hayes and he loves them too.

Hayes pulls into the parking lot and then up to the door so that I don’t have to run through the rain. All of our luggage is still in the back seat but we’ll have to go back for the tent tomorrow though, as long as the rain has let up.

“You know what we should do,” I ask as he comes around to get my door.

“What’s that?”

“See if they have a honeymoon suite,” I say as I wrap my arms around his neck and offer him my mouth.

He grins down at me before he presses his lips to mine and I smile back.

I can’t wait to see all of the adventures we have together for the rest of our lives.

Starting with what we can get up to in the honeymoon suite tonight.

Hayes

Five Years Later…

“He’s perfect,” Ryan says as he looks down at his grandson.

I smile, agreeing with him one hundred percent. Betty is looking tired but happy as she watches her parents, son, and me from the hospital bed and I move closer to her side. When I brush some of her still damp hair away from her face, she turns and smiles softly up at me.

“You are amazing,” I tell her and she turns her head, kissing the palm of my hand before she looks back at our son.

“Have you two decided on a name yet?” Emma asks as she moves to take her grandson from her husband.

“Not yet,” I start but Betty stops me from going on.

“Actually, I was thinking about that,” she says, biting her bottom lip as she starts to sit up a little more in the bed.

I move to help her, putting an extra pillow behind her back so she’s more comfortable.

“How about Ben?” she says, her eyes studying my face as she says the name.

“Oh, after Hayes’s father,” Emma says, too busy staring down at our son to notice the look passing between Betty and me.

“Betty,” I say, but I can’t get any other words out.

“I think it’s perfect,” she says quietly, giving me that beautiful smile of hers.

I nod, tears threatening to spill from my eyes, and she reaches her hand out to me. I take it, this time kissing her palm and wrapping her fingers around the kiss.

Betty is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I make sure that she knows it every day of our lives.

We’ve been married for five years now and with each year, each day that passes, I fall a little more in love with her. She was my entire world and now that our son is here, that world has just grown by one.

When Betty had told me that she was pregnant, it was a shock. We hadn’t been trying necessarily, but the timing was perfect.

I had just finished up another gallery showing and she was about to dive into her latest project. We both decided to take some time to ourselves and try to enjoy the pregnancy and change to our lives.

The first order of business was to buy a bigger house. Our little cabin was great for the two of us, but there was no way that we could fit everything that a baby would need into it.
