Page 156 of Fighting For Her Love

I don’t want the night to end, but it has to at some point. Without thinking I head into the Flamingo, pulling her with me.

“Giving us some privacy to work this out,” I mutter.

I pay and grab the room key, not thinking of anything really but holding her.

Once in the room I strip myself of my shirt and watch her lick her lips.

I kiss her, hard as my hands explore her body. My fingers unzip her jeans and I shove them down, wanting her to come again, loving how she looks. I just want her to know that I can make her feel good.

I thrust my fingers in as my mouth grazes her neck, listening to her moan.

She falls apart and I let her ride it out. When she comes back down off her orgasm high, I fix her clothes.

“I’m utterly confused,” she says.

“Not my intention,” I interject.

“I know and you always make me feel amazing,” she says, blushing. I like that look on her.

“What am I going to do?”

“Follow your heart,” I say as if it’s that easy.

“If I break his heart, I’ll have nowhere to go. You will have nowhere to go,” she says.

“We will figure things out together,” I say.

“Okay,” she whispers.

“Okay,” I echo her.

“Let’s run away together,” she says and my eyes snap to hers.

“You serious?” I want her to think this through, she has Thorn to think about.

“I’m serious,” she says.

“What about Thorn?”

“I’ll explain everything to him. He will understand. I’ll help him with an apartment or something. I’ll figure it out.”

“Go and take care of Thorn and come back to me,” I whisper before she walks away.

I will take care of her, I can promise her that.

I feel her presence in the room and sit up in bed.

“I missed you,” I say though she looks sad and that gets my attention.

“We need to talk,” she whispers. This can’t be good.

“I’m all ears, sweetheart,” I say.

“I love you, I really do. But I don’t want to get married in a week. I think I need some space. Some time to think. I think we moved too fast. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me and Thorn. But I really do think we’re rushing things because of the whole Lane thing. I need to get away for a bit. You need this, too. We need to see if this is what we really want. I love you, but I need to go away for a little bit,” she says. I’m sure most of that’s true, but I think it has to do with Holden. I’m willing to give her time.

“I love you, too. I hate to see you like this, but I understand. I’ll give you your time,” I tell her, though I’m breaking inside.
