“I’ll be staying in Vegas for a bit, just to think. I just want you to know so you know where I am,” she says.
“Call me when you want to come home,” I whisper, knowing that if I say anything normally it would be with a broken voice.
“Will you take care of Thorn?” she asks.
“Of course. I just hope that you come home soon,” I whisper, though I know she won’t. But I will take care of Thorn.
“Just give me some time,” she says as she moves to pack a few of her things.
I walk over to her, pulling her into my chest as she starts to cry.
“I will always love you, Briar.”
“I know.”
I watch as she finishes packing her suitcase. She tries to give me my ring back but I refuse, telling her to keep it.
I kiss her one more time before she walks out the door. As soon as it shuts, I break down crying. I’m crying so hard that Remo and Tristan hear me. The only thing I can tell them is that she’s gone. She’s really gone. Fuck.
Briar
I take the elevator down to Thorn’s suite and knock, nervous to tell him I’m staying.
“Hey, Sis. What’s wrong?”
“I’m staying here for a little bit. The wedding is off. I’ll be back, I just need some time. Go home with Kingston, he will need you,” I say.
“I just want you to be happy. Call me everyday, please?” he asks.
“I will. Don’t be too hard on King, this isn’t his fault. Go live your dream,” I say, as tears start to fall.
“I don’t want you to go, but I do understand,” he says.
“Thank you, little brother,” I hug him tightly as if it would be the last time I see him. It won’t but he’s all I got.
He kisses my cheek and then I turn to head to the Flamingo, texting Holden that I’m on my way.
I know that Thorn will go home with King tonight. I know that they will need each other. It makes me feel like shit a little bit, that I’m hurting people but I do need to figure out my feelings.
‘See you when you get here.’
I see the text and I smile a little bit, Holden might be good for me, I don’t know.
I’m torn between two men who care about me and I hope that I’m not making a mistake. I guess only time will tell.
