“It’s okay.”

“How was lunch?”

“Good. I enjoy your sister’s company,” I say.

“I’m glad, they really like you,” he states.

“I’m glad you came to the diner the other day,” I blurt out, holding him tighter.

“Me too, sweetheart,” he murmurs into my hair.

“Are you off?” I ask, letting him go.

“Yeah, Thorn went with the boys. He will meet us for dinner later. I’m taking you back to show you what an ‘old man’ is like in bed,” he snorts.

I giggle even though I’m still worried about the shopping trip. I can’t keep having Kingston pay for me.

Kingston

It is going to be Christmas and I have no idea what to get her. I want to get her a ring, but I don’t want her to get the wrong idea, although I can see myself marrying her. But I will wait until she is ready. I am bringing her to New York, along with the others. Except Dash, we know that Christmas is a big day for him. I’m sure he will be in honeymoon mode afterwards.

Clothes are so cliché, although she will need a coat and some warm sweaters for the chilly New York weather.

And she will need a dress for the press conference.

I want her to look extra fantastic at weigh-ins and press conferences, not that she doesn’t already. I mean she’s a knockout, she looks amazing even in jeans and t-shirt.

I decide to call Tana, knowing she can help. Briar is taking a quick nap so perfect timing.

“What’s up, Bro?” she greets me.

“I don’t know what to get Briar for Christmas,” I grumble. At first there is silence. And then she starts laughing.

“Why is this funny?” I’m whining by this point, I know it.

“I never thought I would see the day,” she cackles.

“Well, help me,” I snap.

“What do you think she will like?” she chuckles.

“I don’t know. She wouldn’t want me to spend a lot of money. She’s afraid that people will think she’s after my money if I do,” I shrug even though she can’t see me.

“Well one thing she needs is a new car,” she points out.

“I feel like shit about that,” I mutter.

“It’s not your fault that this guy is psycho,” she says.

“Yeah, and I will make him pay,” I hiss.

“I know you will. Anyways, get her a necklace, nothing huge, maybe something to match her dress. And then you can get her car to match,” she suggests, “because we know you will get her one.”

“Perfect.”

“Get her little homemade gifts to lead up to the car, or wait on the car but just make her feel like she’s loved. She needs it.”

“You’re the best,” I smile.
