“Yeah, but do it pay-per-view, primetime, all out betting. He will think he’ll not only keep his title but rake in the cash,” Thorn throws in.

“You’re on to something there, both of you. We should wait to see how my next fights go though. I already had the idea to take it from him, but I was hesitant,” I say, “though Vegas would be a fun trip.”

Tristan grins, “Lots of trouble to be had.” Thorn snorts as I give them some side eye.

“Behave yourselves,” I chuckle.

“Gotta sow my wild oats,” Tristan smirks.

“Got it, big guy. I hope you find a girl just like Briar someday. A good girl that loves you for you,” I tell him.

“Briar is one of a kind,” he replies. “She’s the best thing that’s happened to you.”

“My sister is pretty awesome,” Thorn adds.

“I know, though I still feel guilty about tonight. If you hadn’t been there it could have been worse,” I say to Tristan.

“Don’t dwell on it,” Briar rasps from behind me. I gesture to her to sit on my lap. She’s put on some sweats and one of my shirts and I can see the swelling in her neck is starting to go down. I’m glad to see that.

“Did you get me a beer, too?” she croaks as she ruffles Thorn’s hair on her way to me. Usually, Thorn whines about her doing that, but he lets her get away with it, probably because she’s hurt and he’s worried.

Tristan jumps up and goes to the fridge, grabbing beers for all of us. She eyes me and I just shrug. Thorn isn’t driving and I’m monitoring him.

“Aren’t you on pain meds?” Thorn asks her.

“I haven’t taken any. Since the bath, it doesn’t hurt as much. If I need them I’ll stop drinking,” she replies with a smile.

Thorn looks at me and I nod, she needs to relax. We’ll give this to her.

“Here you go,” Tristan passes out the beers and she snuggles closer to me.

“What’s the plan?” she asks. We don’t have to ask her what she means, we all are on the same wavelength.

“We kind of have one, but we need to wait until after New York,” I kiss her neck like that will make the hand-print go away.

“I hope you fill me in,” she says as I start to stroke her back.

“I will. I was thinking that we could use a day of fun, since today was so crazy. How about tomorrow after the match we go to the beach?”

“One thing I love about Florida,” Tristan smiles.

“Jet skis, too?” Thorn asks.

“Whatever you guys want to do. We can order takeout and have a picnic,” I state.

“Sounds great,” Tristan nods.

“I’ll let the guys know in the morning when we see them at the gym. Mom did text to say she’s sorry about what happened,” I murmur.

“It’s not her fault,” Briar whispers.

“I know. I should tell Caleb to bring Piper,” I say.

“He’s serious about her,” Briar smiles.

“What is your take, Tristan?” I ask him. Just curious as to what others think about her. Is she on the up and up?

“He’s talked about her before but never went into detail, but I think he does like her,” Tristan replies.
