Today morning when I come down, I find Aarav in the kitchen, shirtless. My feet fail me from letting me in the kitchen. Just a glance at shirtless Aarav Raichand and I’m this edgy, needy, and wanting that I’ve to constantly remind myself he is the same man who wants to control all of me, and I don’t want the same. Did he purposely do that? Be shirtless when he knows I can come down any moment? Probably.

I come out of my daze and try to focus on his actions instead. He is making Chocos for Aarvi. He is about to heat the milk when I stop him.

“She likes it with cold milk.”

He hears me but pretends to be ignorant and continues to warm the milk. What the F***!! I march inside and grab the chocos bowl from him.

“Is this how you fed her in my absence? Things she doesn't like?”

The moment I say this I repent because I know Aarav has outdone himself in taking care of Aarvi in my absence. No matter how much in grief he was, he never let that grief take over his responsibility towards our daughter. My gut twists when he looks at me, his eyes blazing.

“Sorry-” I hold both his arms because I couldn’t take the risk of him leaving the room without letting me apologize. “I seem to lose my filter with you. I didn’t mean to say that. I just.. I just wanted your attention and-”

“And you got one, Jhanvi. Don’t ever say that again.”

“I won’t.” I acknowledge. “You are a great father, Aarav. I know that. I have seen it myself. You might be a fierce and fearless man to the world but you are the most vulnerable one when it comes to Aarvi. She’s your life. Whatever you do for her, can never be less. I am sorry. When I saw you warming the milk I thought-”

“That milk was for my coffee,” he clarifies. “I know Aarvi likes cold milk in her Chocos.”

“Oh.” I am speechless and I really want to rectify the situation. “I’ll make you coffee,” I say, quickly leaving his arm and try to make one when the servant comes inside.

“Sir, the team from Sikand Charity Trust have come to see you.”

“Get them seated in my study room. I’ll be there in a minute.”

The servant leaves and I’m alert too.

“Why are they here?”

“None of your concern.”

He puts off the burner to leave when I block his way.

“Aarav you are forgetting this Charity Trust is mine. You can’t hide from me what’s happening there.”

“What’s the point in sharing? You are more interested in RS Group and everything else that connects you to them. Leave the Trust in my capable hands. I don’t think it should interest you anymore when you have no plans of running it like before.”

Saying that Aarav strides out of the kitchen, giving me another blow to think about.

Aarav

Aman barges into my cabin as soon as my lawyer walks out.

“What was your lawyer Tyagi doing here?” he asks, taking a seat opposite to me. I wind up the papers from my desk and keep them in the drawers.

“Framing my divorce contract.”

Aman chuckles at my response but when I don’t join in his laugh, he becomes serious.

“Aarav this is not something to joke about.”

“Do you think I am joking Aman?” I snap. “Tyagi was here because I asked him to formulate my divorce agreement.”

“Are you out of your mind? Do you know what you are talking about? How can you think of separating from Jhanvi?” He leans forward.

“She wants a separation, I don’t. Ask her if she is out of her mind because I’m sure she is.”
