Before I can reach there, Jhanvi storms into the bathroom and sits on the marble top inside where I had planned to shave first.

“Fine. Take your shower. I’m not leaving this bathroom.”

“Are you kidding me, Jhanvi?” I snap louder this time.

“You said try me. I am doing the same. The challenge is on, Aarav Raichand. I know you can’t leave for work without a shower and if you want to take one, go ahead. Do it right before my eyes. I won’t mind.”

Something intangible leaves my lips which might be a soft F*cking curse.

“Think again, Jhanvi. You know I can do that.”

She grins.

“Sure you can. Aarav Raichand is famous for his dangerous challenges after all. Go ahead. Should I get popcorn to enjoy? How long do you take a shower by the way? Make it long… just a personal request.”

She winks at me and every dirty thought flash in my head to actually fulfil her wish. We have taken a shower together before, many times, but letting her watch me take one is new.

“You know what?” I speak again, this time inching closer to her. “The best solution is to carry you in my arms, put you out then lock the door and take a shower. I’m still capable enough to carry you if you don’t leave right now.”

She hadn’t thought of it so her face dulls but soon it lightens again.

“Okay. Do it. The moment you shut me out, I will turn off the water supply knob of the bathroom. I know where it is.”

Oh, God. Is she serious?

“What do you want dammit?” I growl.

“Dammit?” she frowns. “What happened to Jaan?”

She’s really lost it or she’s decided to make me lose it. And it’s working. I exhale giving up.

“What do you want, Jhanvi?”

“You finally asked a valid question.”

She keeps swaying her legs as she speaks, while still being seated on the marble top beside the basin. Last night she slept in her nightdress, the one which didn’t belong to her earlier wardrobe. And that’s because Aarvi insisted they should twin in their nightwear. Or else I was confident she would wear the one which she wore previously. I try not to focus on the pink flush on her cheeks or the way she batted her eyelashes when she tried thinking what she should ask from me in return to leave me alone to shower. I even curb the desire to push her hair locks falling on her face, away, when she finally decides.

“Okay, so here are my conditions if you want me to leave you alone for a shower.”

Conditions?

“I don’t take orders from anyone.” I remind her but she shrugs.

“Start getting used to taking from me then. I don’t know how I let you dominate me before, but now I have some rules.”

Rules? She doesn't let me even think nor I’m in a position to deny so I hear her out.

“First and foremost– you have to stop ignoring me. I am done with that. It’s lame.”

I am about to retort when she continues.

“Second– You’ll never sleep away from me henceforth because you and I both know the best sleep you get is next to me. And no purposely putting Aarvi between us on the bed unless she wants the same.”

Okay now she is talking something sensible but I don’t understand why? Is she so tired of my ignorance game that she wants to put it to ease?

“And the most important one.” Her smile gets fonder. “You have stopped calling meJaanever since you asked for a divorce so you’ll again start calling me that.”

That’s it. A shiver runs down her body as I grab her passionately, standing between her legs. Her cheeks turn a light shade of pink and her lips open, inviting me in at my sudden shift in position.
