“Ask us,” Morgan begged.
“No way! There’s no way they’ll get this one,” Dad said.
“Try us! Ask!” I said, ready to flex my brain power.
“Okay, calm down.” Mom had her game face on and arched her eyebrow as she eyed each of us. “Who attended WrestleMania VII?” she asked.
Chase continued to jump because he was excited the question contained anything WWF related. He turned and looked at me before looking at Morgan. WrestleMania VII… WrestleMania VII… Who attended WrestleMania VII? I frowned and looked at Morgan. I was drawing a blank.
“Do you know, Morg?” I asked.
He shook his head.
“Do you guys give up?” Mom asked.
“Nooo! Give us a second, miss,” Chase turned around and said to Mom.
“See, I told you they wouldn’t know,” Dad teased.
“No! We know! We’re just discussing our answer to make sure it’s right,” I said.
I huddled up with Morgan and Chase, and we began going through the headliners for all of the WrestleManias to date. WrestleMania VII.
Wait a minute.
Was this a trick question?
WrestleMania VII hadn’t happened yet.
I leaned backward out of the huddle and stared at our fridge. The WrestleMania VI poster hung on the fridge by Hulk Hogan magnets and Morgan’s Honor Roll Student magnet.
“Seven hasn’t happened yet,” I said to Morgan and pointed to the poster.
“But we know who will be there because it’s on the poster,” Morgan suggested.
“But we’ve had this game for years,” I reminded him.
“Can you repeat the question?” I asked.
“Who attended WrestleMania VII?”
I shook my head and looked at Morgan. This had to be a trick question.
“Is this a trick question?” I asked.
“See, I told you they wouldn’t know,” Dad said again.
“Do you guys have an answer?” Mom asked.
I held my hands up in defeat and looked at Morgan. He said the names of a few of the WWF stars that were supposed to be there. Maybe it was a typo on the question card.
“I know the answer,” Dad said. He grinned at us as if he somehow had the secret answer.
“Who?” Morgan, Chase, and I asked in unison.
“Hollis, Morgan, and Chase attended WrestleMania VII,” Dad announced. From the pocket of his shirt, he pulled out tickets.
“What?” I jumped up and raced over to look at the tickets.
