She should get pissed and yell at him, but she couldn’t. How he said it made her think it had more to do with affection for her and their relationship.

Relationship. Shit. She was in a relationship with a man who was like her father…and owned a BDSM club. What the hell had she been thinking?

“Damn, your brain makes my head hurt,” he said, amusement threading his voice. He had said that more than once.

“What?”

“Whatever you are thinking, stop. Just let it be, Addison.”

She sighed and started to circle one of his nipples, but he stopped her by grabbing her fingers.

“Come on, let’s get a snack.”

“We just ate an hour ago.”

“It was more like three, and we worked hard,” he said. “I guess I could order you to sit on my lap naked in the kitchen.”

The way his voice threaded with heat when he talked of her being naked.

“But…”

“It’s a little cold, so why don’t you grab one of my shirts and nothing else.”

Addy liked the idea. She scrambled out of his bed and grabbed the shirt he had been wearing at dinner. It smelled of him. From an early age, she was always led around by her nose. Or that’s what her mother had said to her. Whenever she smelled the woodsy cologne Vic wore, she always felt better. A tiny part of her was appalled at that. Most of her loved the idea, mainly her heart and soul.

Vic pulled on a pair of jeans and nothing else. Then, he took her by the hand and led her down to the kitchen. His house fit him. It was large and kind of manly. The colors matched his personality to a point. Dark wood floors were covered by deep blue throw rugs in different patterns. Even the kitchen was streamlined. Addy had a feeling he had it made to his specifications. Maybe she should redo her kitchen.

“And there you go again.”

She blinked and looked at him. “What?”

“I just asked you if fruit and cheese were okay, and you said nothing. You were lost in there.”

“You sound like you’re irritated.”

He gave her a lopsided smile that made her curl her toes against the wooden floor.

“Not really, but it is sad I can’t hold your attention.” He backed her up against the island counter and caged her in by placing a hand on either side. “What I would like is that for once, you give me your attention.”

“I gave you a lot of my attention upstairs if I remember correctly.”

His smile turned downright seductive. “Well, there is at least that.”

Then, he brushed his mouth against hers, and she shivered. With that little touch, he had her heart pounding so damn hard she would be amazed if he didn’t hear it.

“So, I have to be kissing you or fucking you to keep your attention.”

She usually didn’t like referring to making love as fucking. Still, dammit, how he said it made her want to drag him back upstairs and demand another spanking.

“Yep.”

He sighed and rested his forehead against her. “You will be tough to resist, you know that.”

She didn’t. She’d had lovers, but there had never been any discussion on this level. And that made her sad because she knew she hadn’t given one of them a chance.

“Don’t look so sad.”

She looked up at him and smiled. “Definitely not with you.”
