“Whoa, careful!”

“Oops!”

“Don’t sprain your ankle now, babe. We’re almost there. I can see the beach through the trees.”

We walk past the last gathering of palms, banana trees, and overgrown shrubs. Both of us have a scratch or two. Me on my arms, he has a tiny one on his face. All worth it as we come out to the hidden paradise.

“Oh! It’s perfect, Alek.”

Moonlight plays on the water and lights the crests of the waves. The white foam almost has a neon quality. Removing our shoes, we step onto cool sand. The shoosh shoosh of water against shore is background ear candy. Our sounds of love will accompany it perfectly.

“I wasn’t expecting this. Why didn’t you tell me how cool this was?”

“I’ve never been here either.”

A pleased look appears.

“Really?”

“Really.”

He takes me in his arms.

“That’s good. I want to be the only man you are here with. Now it’s our place alone.”

I kiss pouty lips and taste the nectar of him.

“What I really want is to be the only man, period.”

“I want that too. I have no intention of being with anyone else.”

“Exclusivity. Just you for me and me for you. Are you ready for that?”

“I am.”

He takes my hand and leads me forward to the shore. The entire area is only a matter of forty feet deep and only thirty or so yards wide. We stand in front of a semicircle of trees bordering the sand. Looks like time and man has not touched this holy spot.

He lays the blanket out and comes to me. Slowly, never looking from my eyes, he unzips my romper.

“Let’s go for a moonlight swim.”

Chapter 11

ALEK

The dark sea is a wide pool of wonder tonight. Cool ocean water sparkles in the ribbon of moonlight, and buoys her naked body against mine. Waist deep, legs encircle my torso. Soft breasts and hard nipples press against my chest. Her hair is slicked back and showcases the natural beauty of almond shaped eyes, and a beautiful mouth. It is a scene of extreme sensuality and unearthly pureness.

Leilani holds on tightly. We are easy riders on gentle waves that lift and set us back down in a soft pattern. Feel good hormones are released when we are in the water, but I don’t think dopamine and serotonin are the only reasons I’m feeling like this. It’s something much bigger. I am consumed with love.

Does she feel the rhythm of my heartbeat? I don’t care that we have only known each other for six or seven weeks, or that I live across an ocean. What would have stopped other connections, are only details now. The urge to tell her what I am feeling is overwhelming. Words are pushing to be heard. People say to speak truth to power. I want to shout.

Instead, I hold back. When a man fears his level of affection might not be returned, all prior confidences evaporate. It is as if I have never won the love of a woman. Nothing and no one compares with the one in my arms. I mean, I believe in miracles, but hoping for her to feel as I do might be too big a reach.

I start walking toward the shore, carrying her wrapped around me.

“Let’s make love,” I say, hoping she hears the real message.

My thighs push through the water and I hold her tighter. When we reach the sand she’s set down gently.
