She turns around to face me, her hand on her heart. “I thought you were still sleeping,” she whispers.

I lean up on my elbow and smile at her. It’s dark, but I can see her well enough. “Your alarm woke me up,” I say, joking with her.

“Sorry,” she whispers, then bends down to pick something up––presumably her clothes. She looked sexy as hell sleeping in one of my t-shirts last night.

“Why are you whispering?” I whisper, joking with her again.

She stands with her bra in her hands, then sets it on the bed and proceeds to drag my t-shirt over her head. “It’s early,” she says a bit louder but still quietly. “I don’t know.” She shrugs, then puts her hands on her hips and looks at me. “I don’t want to wake any of the other guests. These walls are thin.”

I can barely see her, but her body takes my breath away. My cock twitches as I watch her slip her bra on.

“Well, I hope we didn’t disturb any of them last night,” I say with a smile.

Olivia walks across the room and picks up her dress from the floor. “God, I hope not,” she replies before putting it on, covering her beautiful body.

“What time is it?” I ask, still confused as to why she’s awake so early.

“A little after five,” she replies as she slips her shoes on.

Jesus. I don’t remember the last time I was up this early, especially on a weekend. “Can’t wait to escape?” I ask, hoping that’s not the case. After the night we shared, I can’t imagine that’s it… unless she’s had a change of heart.

“What?” she asks, as if she didn’t understand my question. She looks at me, then realization seems to hit, and she shakes her head. “No, not at all. I have to work.”

“Oh!” Realization hitsmeas I remember her telling me she wakes early in the morning to prepare breakfast for the guests staying at the B&B.

She walks toward me, stopping at the edge of the bed. “I enjoyed last night,” she says, and I’m glad to hear it. “I hope we can spend more time together before you leave tomorrow.”

“Of course. I have to go to the book signing again today, but I’d love to see you after that.” Shit. This is my last day in Seaside. I’m checking out and returning to Tacoma tomorrow. I can’t let last night be the only date Olivia and I have. I want to spend more time with her before I leave. “Can I take you out tonight?” I ask, hoping to God she’ll say yes.

She smiles. “I’d like that.”

“Great!” I exhale, not even realizing I’ve been holding my breath as I anticipate her answer. “I’ll text you later to set the plans, but I should be back from the book signing around three, I think.”

“Perfect,” she replies, then picks up her phone from the side table. “I have to go. I’ll see you later.”

“Wait––” I don’t want her to go without kissing her goodbye. I pull the covers off me, get up, then stalk over to her on the other side of the bed. I’m completely naked, and my dick is standing at attention, but I don’t care. Without saying a word, I cup each of her cheeks in my hands and pull her in for a kiss.

Olivia moans before wrapping her arms around my waist. I pour everything into this kiss, not caring that either of us has morning breath. I like Olivia––a lot––and last night was incredible. I can’t wait to spend more time with her, and I’m already dreading saying goodbye to her tomorrow. It’s been a long time since I felt this strongly for a woman, and she obviously wants me as much as I want her. It’s a good feeling.

She pulls back sooner than I want to let go. “I have to go,” she says.

Reluctantly, I let go of her, and she drops her hands from my waist.

“I’ll see you later,” she says before planting a quick kiss on my lips. Then, she turns and walks toward the door. When she opens it, light from the hallway illuminates the room. She looks at me again, smiling mischievously. “I want more of that later,” she says, pointing at my cock. She closes the door before I can respond.

Blowing out a breath, I run my hand through my hair. Damn. I can’t wait to take her out tonight.

I try to go back to sleep, but I’m wide awake. I figure I should do something constructive with my time, so I get out my laptop. The new book I’m writing won’t write itself, so I might as well get some words in.

But first, I get dressed. I slip on the t-shirt Olivia slept in, along with a pair of sweats. The scent of her perfume lingers on the shirt, and I smile, imagining how damn sexy she looked wearing this. She looks sexy in everything she wears, to be honest. The dress she wore to the dinner last night, the capris and t-shirts she wore the other times I’ve seen her… she looks beautiful whether she’s dressed up or dressed down.

I decide to enjoy the view while I write, so I open the curtains and set my laptop on the table next to the window. Although it’s dark, it’s light enough I can still see the waves of the ocean crash against the shore. The sun should be rising soon.

Remembering I have a coffee pot in the room, I decide I might as well make myself a cup of coffee. I’m not going back to sleep at this point. I also decide to open the window so I can smell the ocean breeze. What better place to write the next great American novel?

Several hours later, I find myself signing the last book of the weekend. The book signing has definitely been less busy today compared to yesterday, but there were still several fans who came through my line. Now, the venue is practically empty. Many of the authors are packing their books and swag to take home, and some have already left. I look to Diane, who’s already starting to pack my stuff.

“What a weekend,” I say, giving her a hand.
