“Yes, Sir.”

Turning on his heel, he walked away, his warriors following after him and leaving me standing there.

Damn it!

Rubbing both hands over my face, I wondered what the fuck had gotten over me. I had never been a confrontational kind of guy, but my emotions were all over the place after what happened, and that asshole made my blood boil until I couldn’t think. He brought out the worst in me.

Trying with everything I had to let go of the ire growing inside of me, I stopped at the edge of the river where Tharion still slept. I took one breath after another, my chest harshly rising and falling with the effort. Yet, instead of diminishing my anger, rage flowed into me in wild bursts, electrifying my nerve endings, and crashing into my core like pure lightning. My form began to shake as what felt like raw energy rushed through me.

I wanted to scream like a mad man, until something exploded from my mouth.

An ear-splitting screech erupted behind me, resounding in the air with such power that everyone’s hands flew to their ears to cover them. I whirled around just as another screech of war split our eardrums, and my eyes widened with dread the moment I realized its origin.

A bright yellow Dragon pushed through the trees, breaking the thick, ancient trunks with each step. His jaws opened wide to show threads of lightning crackling inside his throat, nearly white eyes targeting the innocent people below him.

He was ready to fire.
