My boys and I might have started this company together, but when it comes to the projects we work on and the people we work with, it’s my say that seals the deal. Any company we work with knows who they need to impress in the short thirty minute meetings we allot for new client contracts. If I don’t get the right vibes from a person, the PAC to my V would stand behind my decision not to work with them.

As I approach the meeting room, the back of our potential client’s head comes into view through the frosted glass windows. His back is facing me, but he's got wide shoulders, dark hair, and a power suit that shows he came to play.Good, I always like being underestimated to show exactly how hard I can bite back. The boys and I part ways, with each of them heading off to their offices as I open the door to the meeting room. When it comes to new clients, I usually meet with them first on my own to get a general idea of what they’re looking for from our company.

My assistant Shayla stands in the room waiting for me, as she gawks at the man sitting at the table. The moment I walk in, her eyes shift to me, letting our guest know I have arrived. He slowly begins to stand, his height much taller than my five foot nine with heels. He turns around leisurely, making me feel like time has started to move in slow motion, flashing me an award-winning smile that I’m sure melts the panties off of every woman he encounters. Too bad for him, this woman already had her panties melted off by three big, bad wolves this morning, so that shit won’t work on me.

The longer I stare at this man though, the more gorgeous he gets. Damn, he’s fine as hell. He’s got that tall, dark, and handsome vibe going on that always makes my legs a little wobbly. The first thing I notice about him are his ocean blue eyes, that make me want to get lost at sea. I’d let the waves inside of his eyes take me into the ocean to never be found again if it meant I could stare at those blues forever. His brown hair, perfectly pushed back and styled, makes his eyes stand out even more. Soft stubble covers a jawline that could cut ice with how defined it is.

Lowering my gaze, I take in the rest of him. His perfectly tailored gray suit hints at toned arms and muscular legs. He seems to be around my age, but everything about this man exudes confidence and sex appeal. I can feel it in the air as I stare him down.

He extends his hand to shake mine and I grab it firmly, not breaking eye contact even as a tingle bolts up my arm, causing me to suck in a soft gasp. The air begins to feel thick and stuffy. Not wanting to break the handshake first and admit any weakness, or let this guy's big dick-swinging ego get in the way, I shake his hand until he finally releases mine and takes a step back closer to his chair.

Let’s get this over with so I can escape this room and breathe again.

“Lya Vanderall, owner of VPAC Tech,” comes out weaker than I intended it to.

“Your picture is all over the city, it’s hard to miss you.” He cockily smirks. “Greyson Nash.”

I turn on my heel, motioning toward the table. “Mr. Nash, please have a seat,” I say with more bravado than before. Luckily, Shayla left my legal pad and pen on the table for me. I don’t know if I could have walked across the room without stumbling due to his presence. What is wrong with me?His gaze follows me as I step to my seat. The way he's watching sends chills down my spine. If I’m being completely honest, I’m unsure if it's unease or arousal.

“So Mr. Nash, you need VPAC to design an app for your dating site?” I ask, as I take my seat.

He nods as he straightens his tie. “I started Love in Sight two years ago. It matches singles not only by distance, but by their preferences, interests, and hobbies. The site has really taken off over the past year. As of right now, I only have the website. I assume that an app is the next best step.”

“Makes it more accessible to users,” I agree. “Do you have any specific requests for your app?”

He lifts his gaze to meet mine and I freeze. His blue eyes are insanely bright, but they have an intense feel to them. That’s when I notice the scar starting at the outside corner of his right eye. It’s a perfectly straight line until it hits his hairline. He lifts up the side of his mouth in a smirk. “You’re the expert.”That’s weird. Usually cocky men want to control the whole situation.

As soon as I get my breath back, I spout off, “Okay… Well, on top of the app, we can revamp your website if needed.”

A noise comes from his mouth, kind of like a laugh. “Ms. Vanderhall, no disrespect, but my website is perfectly crafted. I don’t need you to mess it up,” he denotes in a condescending tone.Oh no he fucking didn’t.I want so badly to tell him off right now and I might also want to smash that cocky ass grin into the table, but that would be terrible for business.Fuck it, I can’t hold myself back.

“If you’re so confident in your skills, what do you need us for?” I blurt out, not caring to control my tongue. That smirk still rests on his face as if he was expecting me to lose my control.

“Ms. Vanderhall, I said I have a perfect website. Not a perfect app. I already had someone master my website when I first started, but they are no longer... in the business. Therefore, I need someone to build an app for me. Money is not an issue. I’m told you’re the best, so here I am.” His tone is calculating.

“Of course we are the best. The best at making apps and making websites, but if your website is already asperfectas you say, then the app will do just fine.” I give him the same cold tone in return. I need to dial it back some, my attitude is shining through and that is never good for business.

I look down on him as I stand, not waiting to waste any more time with this man who thinks he’s God’s gift to women.Plastering a fake smile on my face as I spit out, “Let me just get the developer who will be working on your project in here.” I smash my finger down on the pager button on the telephone. “Brandon, can you please come to the meeting room?” I say, then release the button. “Be right there,” his voice growls back through the speaker.

Brandon West is our third best web and app developer at VPAC Tech. He graduated from Craibridge University a few years before me and the guys. The man has some real talent—I worked hard to build this company from the ground up, so I only hire the best. Brandon is the man we put on the job when neither Rian nor myself can take on the project. Sometimes it sucks being the boss, because you have to spend time working on the business side of things instead of doing the thing you love.

I’m brought back to reality by the sound of the door swinging open. Brandon walks into the room wearing a black suit that doesn’t quite fit his lanky body the way it should. Crossing the room, he stops when he reaches me. His mousy brown hair is unruly, sharp stubble covers his face, and dark rings surround his eyes. He looks like he hasn’t slept in days. “What can I help you with?” he asks.

I motion toward Greyson. “Brandon, this is Mr. Greyson Nash, founder of the dating site Love in Sight. You will be working with him to develop an app for his business.”

When Brandon turns to greet Greyson, there is a small spark in his light brown eyes. Maybe recognition or even surprise? The air in the room changes slightly as Greyson stands to shake Brandon’s hand, his jaw tight. “Nice to meet you, Brandon.”

“Same to you,” Brandon replies, as he stares blankly at Greyson. “I look forward to working with you to make the best app possible. While we’re all here, I’d like to get some more information about what you’re looking for.”

Greyson narrows his eyes at Brandon, as if he’s annoyed by his question. “I want the app to be sleek and modern, something that draws people in,” Greyson replies in an uninterested tone, as if it doesn’t matter to him. You’d think that an owner of a company would at least be interested in how the app turns out.

“Do you have a color scheme?”

“Just the colors already on the website.”

“Okay… Do you have a preference on whether the app is laid out in a simple format so it’s easier to use, or a more intricate design that may be more aesthetically appealing?” Brandon asks.
