“Just calm down, man. Go walk it off or some shit, but fucking back down. You know this shit isn’t helping anything.” Theon’s trying to reason with me, but I can barely hear him.

All I can think about is Blais and her in the bathroom. Fuck, it was hot as hell, but I’ll never admit that. Seeing her completely naked down on her knees was a sight I’ll never forget.

The soft moans escaping her lips as she took Blais down her throat was pure ecstasy. I’d love to fuck her just as much as I’d love to kill her. Have her pussy wrapped around my cock as I slam into her, but I know how to control myself. I’m still rock-hard, but I have to think with my head and not my dick. Unlike Blais. She’s tempting, she really is, but I’m stronger than that. No woman is worth losing my brothers over.

He said I’m jealous, but he’s dead wrong. I want her to stay far away from my family because I know she’s playing a game with us. I can see it in her eyes. There’s no way she wouldn’t use her training in manipulation against us. She knows how much Blais is infatuated with her and she’s using that to her advantage.

Seems like it’s working.

“No, I'm not going to calm down. I won’t until Blais realizes that she’s fucking playing him and he’s letting her.” I raise my chin, flaring my nostrils, waiting for Blais’ response.

Blais charges toward me. Theon tries to hold him back, but it’s no use. Blais grabs ahold of the collar of my soaked shirt, getting in my face, reminding me that I got in the shower with her only moments ago. Her stubborn ass wasn’t listening to me so all the reserve I had left snapped.

“Say what you’re really thinking. Let it out, I know you want to.” His forehead presses against mine as his inner beast itches to be released.

“You think you can handle that? You really want to know the truth?” My teeth are gritted, clenching so hard.

“Do it.” His face is beet-red and his nostrils flare from the anger.

“She sees your weakness and is using it against you. She’s working her way under your skin and you’re just letting her walk all over you like her little plaything. Part of me thinks you know that and don’t even care because someone’s giving you the attention you so desperately crave.”

“Fuck,” Theon whispers under his breath beside me.

I shouldn’t have said that, but he wanted the truth, and I made sure he got a healthy dose of it.

He pulls his head back from mine releasing my shirt to turn his back to me. He lets out a low chuckle before spinning around and punching me right in the jaw, causing my head to snap back.

Damn. He clocked me good.

He attempts another punch to my face but I narrowly avoid it. Instead, I lunge at him, tightly wrapping my arms around his body, causing us to fall to the ground. I straddle him, trying to pin his arms down, but one gets free and he lands a punch to my side. He bucks his hips, rolling over on top of me and punches my face one more time.

Theon chuckles, making my anger rise even more.

“Fuck, man. Theon, a little help here?” I say angrily. When Blais loses his control, it’s like he becomes Hulk. His strength knows no bounds when he’s pissed.

“Not a chance. I warned you to stop this, and obviously you two need to work this out. Whether that includes words or fists, I don’t care, just figure your shit out.” Theon’s amused voice makes my jaw clench even harder.

Thanks, fucker.Glad you’re finding humor in this.

Maybe this is what we need. Sometimes we solve our problems with fists instead of in a civilized manner. Either way, we always come out of it stronger than ever.

Blais goes to punch me again but I grab onto his fist, squeezing it as hard as I can. “Blais, stop. I’m not saying this to hurt you, I’m saying this so you can see what she’s trying to do to us, to you. I don’t want you getting hurt over someone who doesn’t care the same way you do.”

His eyebrows furrow and he drops his hand. He still sits on top of me but I can tell he’s really thinking about what I said. “You really think so?” His voice is genuine, making me feel a hint of guilt having to do this.

I let out a breath considering my next answer. “I can’t be sure, man, but I do know she’s trained in manipulation tactics and she’d do anything to get out of here, so I wouldn’t put it past her.”

He looks hurt, but a wave of understanding crosses his face.

“Think about Allie, man. We started all of this for her. What if she fucks this up before we get justice for Allie?” I whisper, hoping this will bring him back to us.

His frown deepens. “We will, Ace. I promise. She was my family too. We won’t let them get away with it,” Blais croaks.

“Good.” That’s all I can get out, because I don’t want him to see how emotional I get talking about my baby sister. They know how fucked up I was after she died, but I promised I’d be strong to take down her killer. I can’t be strong if my emotions are threatening to spill just thinking about her.

A smile quickly masks his face, sending a pain through my chest. He’s going to pretend like it doesn’t bother him, like he always does.

I’m so afraid he’s going to act like he doesn’t have a heart that one day he’ll actually lose it. He’s the only one of us that still does, and I’d hate to see that happen. We need his heart to keep us human.
